I just took my DAT's yesterday and wanted to see what people thought:
Orgo:23
Bio:21
Gen Chem: 27
PAT: 19
Math:16
Reading: 19
TS:23
AA:21
I am really happy with my scores. I just graduated and have a 3.9 GPA with a 3.7 science GPA. Here's my breakdown of what I used:
Bio: I used AP cliffs and Destroyer. I am a bio major which definitely helped but I read through cliffs twice to go over areas that I had not learned or was not one hundred percent confident about. I used destroyer for the little details which I think is very important. If you just use cliffs it is not enough because they do not focus on little things that will for sure come up on your test. I went through destroyer at least 4 times because each question has so much important information in it.
Gen Chem: I actually thought I would do better in orgo than gen chem but guess not. I used destroyer and old class notes from my gen chem class for this part. Destroyer definitely helped for the conceptual questions and if you understand how to do every problem you should be totally fine and you will breeze through this section.
Orgo: I took orgo 2 years ago and this past year I was an orgo tutor so I was able to keep everything from orgo fresh in my head. Orgo is my favorite subject out of all of the 3 sciences on the test so I am still not sure what I got wrong. I used destroyer for this. The road maps are awesome and the questions are more basic than destroyer therefore if you know destroyer you can easily do well on this section.
Reading: This is definitely not my strong section so I worked really hard. I used Mcat Exam Crackers practice reading tests and I think it really helped. I had the croccidile passage and it is definitly not as bad as everyone says. It is all inference questions but practicing with the Mcat book really helped.
Math: I used destroyer math which has 10 practice tests. It was extremly helpful in reminding me about topics that I have looked at since high school. I also looked over some kaplan stuff but didn't find that it covered all the areas that was needed for the test. I didn't do so well because I was so focused on finishing that I should have spent more time on the stuff I really knew how to do.
PAT: I used crack the pat. I bought the 10 tests and I could not have done it without it. I was getting steady 21's on my practice test but I got a little flustered on the actual test so that might have hurt me a little. But once I got in my groove things were coming together. Hole punching and cube counting are a joke compared to crack but pattern folding is much harder.
Hope that helped and if anyone has any questions I would love to help you out.
