Hello guys! I'm new to Student Doctor and I just got my DAT done.

Here are my scores: Please give advice/insights.... and tell me what you think. THANK YOU SO MUCH

PAT: 20 81%
QR: 20 92.9%
RC: 17 35.5% 🙁
Bio: 17 56%
GC: 20 86%
OC: 20 84%
Total Science 19 83%
Academic Average 19 85.4%

GPA: 3.55 Science 3.4
Dentist shadowing experience: YES
Dental Assistance work :YES
Volunteering and Community Service: YES
Unique background: TOTALLY! 🙂
Playing a music instrument: Oh Yes!

Your GPA and AA/TS are right in the median of many dental schools average acceptance figures. If you apply to a good number of places and come through on the interviews, I think you'll get a few acceptances. Congrats on the scores.

I have no idea how to reply on this thread...I'm gonna try this, hope it works!

I am kinda disappointed for the scores I got... I was anticipating something around 21 for all sections. I think the DAT was very hard, especially the Bio part; there were so many questions that were not in CliffsAP nor KBB so I really freaked out. Anyway, as you can see I did not do too well on the RC either BUT don't worry it really isnt that hard, its just that I speak English as a secondary language... I'm sure you'll do fine.

I was scoring 22 on all sciences and 23 on the PAT but I really dont know what happened. I just hope I get in somewhere... I spent so much money and time into this crap.... My state dental school's average DAT (according to their website) is 19.5 and YES I said 19.5....

What else did you want to know? I'm being helpful at all? lol

I hope I get more feedback from other people too.

if your bio was a 19, your TS would easily be a 21 or so.

first time taker right?
most people here take it more than once, and you might want to consider that!

pretty solid marks overall though, now you know the gist of the exam!

not to mention your GPA is above average, i think you should definitely be fine!

I dunno about retaking, October is pretty late, and when it comes to bio - you either know it or your don't. I'd say it's the most difficult section to improve because it comes from a solid science background.

Just get that app in asap, and bring that musical instrument to the interview!
