The breakdown…

PAT- 22
QR- 17
RC- 20
Bio- 20
GC-21
OC-22
TS-21
AA-20

Biology
Very straightforward questions. Nothing I haven’t seen before but I few minor details I must have over looked while studying which cost me some points.
Materials
-Destroyer
-Barrons AP
-Cliff AP ( Only the review questions)
-Bio textbook

Gchem- I felt it was 50/50 calculations and theory. No extreme calculations, but no calculations were set up.
Materials
-Destroyer
-ACS general chem.
-Chemistry textbook

Ochem- Very simple reactions. I had a few CNMR and HNMR, which I think is the reason why I missed a couple of points.
-Destroyer
-ACS ochem
-Ochem text book

PAT- CDP! 10 test. I was averaging 22-24 so I guess it was pretty close to my real score

RC- Search and destroy. My only recommendation for this section is practice reading in loud areas, even though I was provided noise reducing head-phones, I could still hear the clickity-clack (sp?) of the other testers typing.
Materials
-Topscore

QR- Another one bites the dust. What can I say, I thought I studied enough but apparently, this section took me behind the ol’ shed and made me bleed.
Materials
-Just the Math section of Destroyer, not the “MATH DESTORYER”

Overall I’m pretty happy about my scores except for QR. I just hope that this 17 doesn’t prevent me from entering Dental school.

I understand this is a half-ass breakdown but I just finished my test and I’m pretty beat. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask. However, I wouldn’t be offended if you opted to ask someone with higher scores.

I have a 3.9 oGPA and a 3.89 sGPA. My dream school is University of Michigan.

Thank you to everyone on SDN!

Hello, congrats on your success on DAT!! I have a quick question as I am taking the test in two weeks 🙂

How were the results of Topscore that you took comparable to the result of real DAT?

Also, is the format of RC on the real test pretty much the same as the Topscore?

Thank you!!!

Holy Smokes! With a GPA like that and those scores you'll be in great shape... Enjoy you're summer and go out tonight and celebrate HARD!

WhaWha,

In my experience Topscore is pretty accurate as you can see. However, I've seen many people who have scored much higher on the real DAT compared to Topscore. I really think it all comes down to nerves. I was soo nervous in the beginning I thought I was going to puke on the computer.

For RC-
I guess I got lucky I didn't have any Frappicino Drinking Crocodiles who play pianos

The passages were pretty much the same length as topscore, and search and destroy worked well for me.

Hope this helps,

Good luck.

Congrats - those are some awesome scores.
GOOD LUCK..

Wts ACS general chem and O chem?
CDP - thats crack dat pat rite?
Do you recomment anything else to practice for reading section?

Thanks alot..tc🙂

Navi654,

ACS
-American Chemical Society
It is the official study guide for the ACS final exam. At my university at the end of general chemistry II and Organic Chemistry II we have to take a final that encompasses both semesters and the company that provides the final also provide a study guide. I can't remember the website but I'm sure if you type in "ACS" in google you'll find it. I thought it was one of the best ochem sources, but the calculations in the gchem study guide were too much.

CDP- Is Crack DAT PAT. Go buy the 10 test version and practice with that.

For reading comprehension
-I only studied with topscore, however sometimes before I would go to bed I would try and read a few scientific articles.

I would read the article for 5 or 6 minutes ( about how long it would take to read one passage) then I would try and right down everything I remember reading without looking back at the article. It got me used to pulling out the main idea without getting side-tracked with little details.

Hope this helps,

Good luck.
