Scores:
PAT 20 (85.4%)
QR 14 (25.8%) 😕
RC 22 (90.3%)
Bio 22 (95.7%)
GC: 22 (90.1%
OC: 23 (94.3%)
TS: 23 (98.2%)
AA: 21 (93%)

I'd first like to thank everyone on SDN...you guys have helped me out so much!

Bio: I used schaum's for the animal taxonomy/biomes stuff but used bio examkracker...i know everyone uses CLiffs but i found it to be too general
i guess i study better when more detail is involved, I also used random bio textbooks and a lot of wikipedia to understand concepts
i would recommend going through bio Destroyer a few times...one of my bio questions literally was one of the questions in destroyer
..while i was going through destroyer, id make notes of all the information i didn't know and reviewed it the week before the exam and i think that really helped

Chem: used chem examkrackers and chem textbook, did destroyer a few times...its definitely easier then destroyer, there were few calculations where you had to do the math out and there were some that you set up...and few concepts

Orgo: used orgo examkrackers and an orgo textbook (wade), did destroyer a few times, went over the road maps the day before the test which also helped, i didn't have too many reactions...mostly concepts

RC: just did Achiever and TS...scored between 20 to 22s

PAT: Crack DAT PAT!..i thought i was going to do worse on this section that i actually did...the angles and the folding were pretty hard

QR: honestly i did a few crack dat math tests and bought a word problem book to practice word problems...but i thought the actual problems on this section were harder than Achievers, TS, and CDM

Ok so i honeslty need your opinions...i have about a 3.4 undergrad GPA, don't kno my science GPA, and a 4.0 gpa in my master's program..
I have a ton of EC activities and 2 scientific journals published at NIH

i'm really worried about my QR score...i don't know if i have to take this again in october....

btw, if any of you need additional info, let me know

Great scores! I don't think you should retake.... I got a 14 on QR as well. I am going to ride with my scores. I went back and forth for a long time because I knew that i could do better on QR, but I don't know if I can replicate my RC and Bio score again. So I think you should stick it out. What are your GPA and stats?

i think you'll be just fine... those scores are awesome. from what i hear, schools aren't looking too closely at the QR section

What's going on with QR? I haven't seen many people here on SDN scoring 19+, and that's considering the fact that most of them have amazing science scores with really competitive AA and TS scores.
They might as well just eliminate the QR section.

like u saw sim questions for bio from destroyer, whatwould u say about destroyer on orgo and destroyer on chem... also did u feel that cdp was harder then real dat... now i am at 18 on cdp the angles r really messing me over.....

Most schools don't care about QR, but that doesn't mean they'll take any score.

My friend got into UCSF with a 13 on QR and 17AA.
UNLV straight up told me they don't factor QR in what so ever. As long as you can count up to 10, you're good.

I agree about the QR, as I am a victim of the QR section as well, lets petition to abolish the section! Off with the QR!

On a more serious note though, almost every school I've spoken to told me that if your other sections are solid, they will be much more willing to overlook a low qr score. Almost all the schools said an absolute minimum of 14 on QR, so be thankful you didnt get a 13. Some schools have the dreaded automatic cutoff though, which I think is ridiculous because they would automatically throw you out as a candidate but someone with a 17AA and 17PAT would still be in the running! Thats just outrageous to me!

That may be true! But not every school is like that. I called UCLA, because my QR score isn't that impressive either. And they told me although they don't have cutoffs for any section of the exam, but scores below 15 start raising some red flags. They also added that they would only overlook poor QR scores, if the applicants have highly competitive scores in other sections of the exam.
So, you can't come up with a general rule saying that schools don't care about QR scores. Obviously, there's a reason the exam includes this section. If it had no impact on your admission, why bother assigning a score to it?

P.S. I'm not suggesting the OP has no chances of getting admission this year. Obviously, he/she is in good shape, because he/she has highly competitive scores in other sections of the exam. So, he/she shouldn't worry too much. What I'm saying is that contrary to what many applicants want to believe, the QR does have an impact on their admission. So, you can't score a 12 on QR and act all surprised if most schools reject you!

Yeah that type of scenerio Im sure is limited to some schools but definitely not the general rule, I would just check with each school you apply to cuz not all schools will be cool with you scoring a 14 on QR and its not worth wasting your money applying to them if you're gonna be thrown out of the running immediately.

Then there is a school like Stony Brook that says that "they would like all applicants to have scores above a 15..." Is that a tried and true cutoff? Shouldn't it be a little more clear instead of sort of implied? On predents.com they accepted an applicant with a 15 QR last year....

Congrats on your scores. There seems to be a lot of understanding floating around regarding QR (at least that is the opinion of the forum). It definitely requires a certain groove that you only get with practice. Not to mention it is the most painful section to study IMO. I think the rest of your test makes up for it for sure.

thanks all!

im really worried...i've been calling a bunch of schools in the NE but m not really getting a straight forward answer from them

im still wondering if i should take it over again...it would be in october and that would be pretty late in the cycle

do any of you have any recommendations to which schools i could be competitive for?

Actually, you just need to be able to count to 32, lol.
