Just took the DATs today and I am so glad to be done with them. First off let me preface my scores by telling you that I studied for the test utilizing ONLY DAT Destroyer for the science and math subjects and I used Crack DAT for PAT and Reading Comprehension.

So now my scores:
PA: 21
Math: 27
Reading: 20
Bio: 30
Gchem: 26
Orgo: 22
Total Science: 25
Academic Avg: 25

If anyone has any questions feel free to contact me.

hey i took my DAT today as well and i didnt do nearly as well as you 🙁🙁🙁🙁...
everyone who took it today had the same test right?

did you have a question on hydrogen perioxide for chem and for bio was your first question on genetics? how many species can be made from AaBBcc?

So breakdown...

Bio: I didn't think the bio was that bad, there were some pretty basic questions including genetics, plants, DNA, etc. nothing too mind-blowing. I had a couple questions that I needed to take an educated guess on, but as I said before nothing too out of the ordinary. Destroyer pretty much covers everything. Maybe if you're not clear on certain topics look them up in a bio book or AP cliff notes or online.

G-chem: Also wasn't too bad the questions were pretty straight forward. Destroyer pretty much nails the g-chem section. If you know and understand how to do all the problems in Destroyer you should be more than prepared.

Orgo: Again Destroyer has all you need to know, and pay close attention to the road maps. My orgo section didn't seem too bad. I really wish I know what I got wrong because thinking back to it I really don't know what I screwed up on. I thought the section was pretty straightforward, maybe a curveball here and there, but nothing too crazy. If you know Destroyer you'll be fine.

PA: I actually found this section to be more challenging than Crack PAT. On the practice tests I was averaging around a 24. The actual test was a bit trickier because certain things like hole punching, top/front/end and keyholes aren't as clear as they are on Crack PAT.

Reading: Very annoying section because I dislike reading in general. My articles weren't too bad, but reading is definitely not my strong point. I think the Crack Reading provides adequate preparation for the real thing. The key to this section is you're either good at it or your not.

Math: Overall I thought it was pretty easy. The question types were very similar to the questions in Destroyer, so my advice is to go through Destroyer and know how to do each type of problem. Also practice taking and finishing the math section in under 45 minutes. I know when I was taking practice tests it was very difficult at first to finish in time.

omg..bio30... congratz on you DAT score!!

Btw, was the ochem question wordy format like kaplan (sametimes) or was straightforward like roadmap type questions? Im okay with roadmap style questions getting 25 on topscore test 2 but on wordy problem such as toptest1 or kaplans it confused me all the times..😴

And how do you compare between real dat gchem section and topscore gchem? was it more wordy type? I hate those questions haha😛

I totally agree with the PAT thing. The PAT quality on the real DAT is pretty bad...I was averaging around 24 on the CDP and scored much lower on the real thing because some of the drawings were really low quality (i.e. the drawings aren't as crisp as you'd see on CDP.)

Anyway, nice scores! I can't believe you pulled off that kind of Bio score only with the Destroyer! Destroyer was useless for Bio for me; although it was awesome for GC and OC.

Good luck with the application!
