Just walked out of my afternoon (4:30) DAT, i didn't get frapped bu i got piano'd pretty hard!!

First for my scores...

PAT 21
QR 20
RC 20
BIO 19
GC 18 🙁
OC 19
TS 19

AA 19

I want to thank everybody on this site that has posted information, I have used it as a resource!!

I studied Kaplan 3rd edition (2004) DAT review book and took practice exams on TopScore Pro. That's it!!

-I did briefly browse through my old organic book just for reactions.
-Also used TheGreenWave's notes!! Thanks buddy!!

Here is my opinion on each section compared to Kaplan/TSP

Bio - DAT MUCHHH harder than both, I guessed at probably 10 of the bio questions.

Gen Chem - Right online with Kaplan and way easier than TSP. Way less calculations than either, mainly conceptual questions.

OChem - Same as Gen Chem

PAT - DAT was a bit harder than kaplan, but way easier than TSP. Especially the apertures, they were easy on DAT but impossible on TSP.

RC - About the same as Kaplan and TSP, but a few mixed in conceptual questions, which TSP does not have.

QR - Easy and about the same as both Kaplan and TSP, but TIME CONSUMING. WATCH THE TIME on this section. I ran out of time and guessed on the last 5 questions.

I don't remember my exact Topscore scores but I have an idea....

PAT - 22 (I missed 12/15 apertures)

TS - 16

RC - 23

QR - 17


That's a general area where my topscore test scores landed. I suppose I may say that the apertures on the DAT were WAY easier, and everything else was about the same. I may even say the hole punching is a bit harder on the DAT.

You did very well on your DAT exam, I am also planning on taking it in 2 months or so. I have bought kaplan dat 2007-2008 edition and I wanted to now how much kaplan helped you in preparing for the test. Also, you said that u took topscore pro test or something, where can i purchase that book, is it from amazon? well i was also thinking to take the prep course but some people say that it doesnt help much and it is quiet expensive for me. Any kind of help from your side will be appreciated. Thanks in advance

good scores. consistent. I've seen 2 other posts where they scored in low to mid 20s in everything but RC (low to mid teens) and if I were adcoms, I'd take your set over theirs...

The kaplan helped me review the broad range of stuff. And it gave me a general direction in which to study. It is not extremely detailed, but it did the job for me. Topscore Pro is a computer program that is basically just three DAT tests. The software simulates the actual DAT and has a ton of good practice questions. It is available at http://www.scholarware.com/ Good luck.

Yes I used Kaplan mainly for reading/studying. The only practice test from Kaplan that I did was the PAT just to see more problems. All the pther practice questions came from Topscore Pro.

Nice scores! Mine were very similar, in fact, our ochem/bio/genchem scores are exactly the same. I have an AA 19 and TS 19, but you got me beat in the PAT - I got an 18.. haha.

Best of luck to you!! I hope you make it into a lot of schools because that'll give me hope for next year's cycle 😀 (I'm still a junior)

Wow your scores are very similar to mine. I got 19/19/22.

I also used Kaplan and Topscore. These are the only ones I used, and I'm assuming those are the only ones you used too?

Your DAT's are fine, congrats! Your low GPA is the only thing that would keep you back, but it seems you have good ec, so hopefully that will help.
