I studied like a madman for the past 14 days! It was spent reading the blue kaplan book and the destroyer. I also did a few of the TopScore (all except for Gen Chem, RC, and PAT because I didn't have time).
PAT- didn't really prepare, I figured I would wing it and score showed. =T. I ran out of time so I guess practicing for pacing would be recommended....
QR- The key is to NOT get bogged down, if you don't like the question, look at your answer choices and make an educated choice... eliminate, etc. Move on, there are plenty of easy questions to get right.
RC- It was very hard for me to concentrate at the beginning because I kept psyching myself out, but remember little words don't matter! Read it fast and efficintely, recognize what they are saying, doing little outlines like names/theories and you can find it much easier. My score wasn't too hot also because I had 14 minutes to read and answer the last passage, wasted too much time on the first passage. Lot of tone questions and how would the writer end this passage' type of questions.
Bio- Lots of random facts, I think the Destroyer was good, I want to say that I saw some things on there that were extremely similar to the DAT. I'm so drained I can't remember everything but I do remember seeing some genetics, embryology, reproduction questions <-- important. I studied my butt off for the phylas but didn't get any questions on them.
G. Chem- concepts, concepts, concepts. very little calculations, if you don't understand something, look it up. The Destroyer helped me here also. If you don't want to calculate, at the very least just read and answer the concept questions.
O. Chem- honestly a blur, never liked this subject.
Basically, I just read the Kaplan book once, did the Destroyer and then after I was done I read through all my notes that I had made when going through the Kaplan and the Destroyer. Then I went over every question in the Destroyer again. My memory is so bad that some of the questions looked new! I think it helped that I went through all the material, and looking up on wikipedia any subject/pathways that were a little confusing. I studied all the way up to the last hour.
Just glad it's over!
Now to be nervous about interviews.... dun dun dun!
