Ive been waiting 3 months to write DAT done. First of all thank you to SDN for everything. Awesome tips on everything.
PAT: 20 (87%)
Math: 19 (81.9)
Reading: 21 (80.2)
Bio: 24 (98.4)
Chem: 22 (88.7)
Orgo: 22 (89.8)
TS: 23 (97.7)😀
AA: 22 (95.4)
Finally done! Really happy with the grade. Ive been reading for the past couple of months how people are baggin 20's and 21's with like "3 weeks of intense studying"....get outta here. Either everyone out there is a frickin genious or im ridiculously slow. Anyways, Ive been studying almost daily since June 1st. I took weekends off but every other day was spent sitting in my dining room hyped up on coffee. All i can say is, if you put in the real time itll pay off.
Bio- Start with whatever background you have in biology. Make sure you read up with some sort of review book. I used Cliffs AP to try and focus on some stuff. Then, pound the Destroyer! The DAT's get super random and doing the Destroyer will really get some good stuff in your head. Anything you dont get, open up your textbooks or wiki it.
Chem and Orgo- all i really used for them was the Destroyer. Went through each one about 4-5 times. I broke them up into like 7, 30-question tests to make mini ones. It ends up being much cheaper then Topscore and you get much more questions. The Destroyer chem was a little much but doing them will make sure youre really prepared for the DAT. Also you never know what the DATs will throw at u so u wanna be prepared for whatever. Use the destroyer roadmaps in orgo to get u good on all the reactions.
Math- i used the Math Destroyer. The math in the back of the regular destroyer wasnt great. But the seperate Math Destroyer was awsome and really similar to the real DAT. I thought I'd do better but it was a little more rushed on the DAT. Also if youre studying with the science aid dry erase board with the marker with eraser on top, get used to other stuff. The eraser Prometric gives u stinks and you have to scrub real hard to get the stuff off so it takes more time.
Reading- used search and destroy the whole time and it worked pretty well. Some questions were harder than others, but tone q's were easy,
PAT- very similar to Crack Dat Pat. I took 3 tests and got 20,20,21.
TopScore- You should take it to practice sittin on your behind for 4 hours but otherwise not incredible. PAT i think was too easy. I was getting 17,18, 19 on the sciences...so dont worry if you are bc the real DATS might be a little diff.
Anyways, thanks again for everything and good luck everyone.
