Hey,
So for as long as i can remember being a member on SDN i have loved these DAT done postings and am so happy i finally get to do my own and so happy that i am finally done.
So here are my scores:
BIO: 23 (97.6%)
CHEM: 24 (94.5%)
ORGO 29 (100%)
RC:20 (66.2%)
QR:15😡 (38.3%)
PAT:22 (97.2%)
TS:24 (99.1%)
AA:22 (95.4%)
QR: So as you can see i did pretty well other than that stupid/dreaded math section. Truth is its rough no if ands or buts about it. I truthfully didn't prepare for the math section as much as i wanted to and payed the price just have to hope schools dont care too much.
TS: Overall i mainly just pounded the destroyer whether it was for chem, orgo or bio. Any additional questions i had i just consulted my textbooks. I found the destroyer a great DAT resource and really prepared me well for the sciences. Yes at times it may seem the destroyer is a bit overkill but that is only to toughen you up for the real test.
Orgo as you can see was my strong point and the detsroyer really helped especially the roadmaps. They are amazing and a few of them landed on my test. Mainly the reductions and oxidation reagents (like LiAlH4 and CrO3). For chem i found myself not doing any calculations on the test. I really only had two setups and they were very simple and straightforward. I used destroyer for this and some kaplan stuff to supplement. The truth is if i would have known about the lack of math on my test i would have just studied concepts. Now for bio most of it was very straightforward but i was definately thrown for a loop by a few of the questions. They seemed very poorly worded and the answer choices seemed very convoluted. I was thankful i did as well as i did. I also just did destroyer and my textbook (raven 7) for this.
PAT: I usually did very well on CDP 20,21,21,22,23,24,25,25,22,26 (i had the ten test version) but in the end the graphics on the real DAT were much worse and harder to see. I think the PAT i had was difficult because i got a 22 and that was still high percentile. I was shocked how some of the TFE and pattern folding just seemed much more difficult then what i had seen. It ended up ok in the end.
AA: overall i cant be upset and if i could give advice to other fellow DAT takers it would be use the destroyer. It is a great book and i loved it and it helped me immensely.
I also used topscore but purely to get a sense of what it meant to sit down for five hours and take a test. My scores were as follows:
BIO CHEM ORGO RC QR PAT
17 18 18 22 18 23
18 19 25 25 18 23
18 21 21 23 18 22
good luck guys and if you have any questions feel free to PM me!
