i took the DAT monday, it was not bad, thank g-d, i didnt get ecology or hemhorrage or any wierd bio questions, and thankfully bio was a very manageable section on my exam..(maybe cuz i studied my ass off)..for gen chem, the questions were simple but the solutions were very drawn out and time consuming...however i did have time at the end of the section to re-check my answers..... orgo was very straight forward, not tricky, they told u what mechanisms they were doing, it was simple.....
Pat was harder than topscore but easier than achiever, i thought, and the angles all looked identical...i think thats where i got the most wrong...top/front/end views were tough, so was keyholes.....everything else was ok
reading....the 1st 2 stories were extremely boring, the 3rd 1 was interesting about sympathetic and parasympathetis NS, i was able to answer some of teh questions based on my own knowledge of the topic....
Math was tough, i had maybe 5 min left to check some answers, there were maybe 5 trig questions, everything else algebra.....some questions i had to blindly guess at an answer
ok my study method is as follows:
i began about 3 months ago, putting in about 4-6 hours a day. i used many resources, such as Kaplan subject tests and practice questions from their review book, Dat Destroyer was really helpful and a great investment i would say that most of my exam was at the same level of difficulty as the destroyer, Topscore and Achiever were really helpful as both question banks and to help me get familiar with the test environment...before my test i didnt lock myself in a study room or anything, i read as much as possible i dead each practice test twice, and i read the destroyer from cover to cover 3 times over the summer, the solutions not only explained the answer, but gave background info about it too, it covered the whole concept. kaplan was good fortheir questions, the natural science workshop integrations were very helpful... i also reverted back to my college lecture and textbook notes for orgo bio and gen chem...they were helpful...thanks queens college and professors Engel, Short, and Seeling!! one thing i gotta say is always have faith that G-d is with you...He really helped me through this test too.... i wont say my scores here even though most of u dont know who i am but i got 20's across the board, so follow this study plan and hopefully you will too...good luck and thanks a lot to u guys here posting threads b/c ur questions helped me a lot too!
