hi all, so this is my first post altho i've been reading lots and lots.
i took it on 29th, my first DAT, not frapped not pianoed,
but not so much satisfied.
I REALLY NEED ALL OF YOURS FEEDBACK !!!!!!!!!!! 😱
here are my scores,
PA 22 (97.2)
QR 19
RC 18
BIO 20
GC 21
OC 30
TA 22 (95.3)
AA 22 (95.4)

reason why i'm not satisfied: QR
this was my most confident section. pratice with topscore got me 28/30/30. i'm usually good at math and was not worrying at all. could not believe i got 19 on real test. DO NOT NEVER EVER OVER ESTIMATE YOUR QR SECTION! yes you get tired, but my problem was this. i was aiming at least about 27 or so on QR since i'm an international student and i usually do horrible on my RC. i thought i could compensate my RC with my QR in terms of getting good AA. and i bumped into some stupid question which required me a pretty long steps of calculation on #4 or something, then i got extremely nervous because i didnt expect this section to take me this much long time for one single problem. frustration!! i ended up not being able to finish about 4 to 5 questions. always had about 2 - 3 minutes left during practice tests.
bio: RANDOM . nothing else to say
GC: know kaplan blue book. that will be good. i thought i did all right but did not get what i usually got. but this is not a hard section honestly. destroyer just gives too much calculation for this.. my topscore something around 24ish..
OC: kaplan bluebook. destroyer helps in terms of practice but real test is easier. i got 28/26/29 on my topscore.
PAT: kaplan is too easy for this i think.. topscore pretty much the same level except angle stuff. angles.. oh my god.. very confusing, other sections i think it was good. i'm guessing most of my points off are from angles.

OKAY, MY QUESTION.
i've been not so much caring about RC since i know i wont get good score altho i practice (real bad slow reader + english is my second language). but i've been hearing that RC section is actually a real important section and it's making me so nervous now.. is 18 like a real bad score because it said 38.1% which seems HORRIABLE. how much do they weight on RC in terms of reveiwing your application.
ALSO, i have low GPA 3.28 with science of 3.39. i thought i should really do good on DAT in order to compensate and didnt really reached my expectation. the overall is about 3 lower than my practice tests (thanks to that QR). i've applied to basically almost all of privates where they take internatonal students.. you think i have good shots for some schools even with my low GPA and that 18 on my RC?
i'm thinking about a re-take but i'm not so sure if i should really do or not..
i feel like i can do better (especially that QR) but then you never know what's gonna happen. (sight)
I NEED AN HONEST FEEDBACK thank you so much!
and good luck to you all 🙂

and let me know if you have any questions! 😍

Such a freak👎
People are struggling for QR of 14 15 ...etc
and now U are complaining for a 19 !!!!!!!!! and of course with a 30 in OC
what a big deal that u got a 19 on QR😡
I suggest that u retake it for sureee

stop freaking. you are fine. enjoy your scores, people would be ecstatic if they had yours.

Your scores are great especially ochem and pa. I think that u r good to go. Try to nail interviews.👍
Enjoy the summer.

sorry didnt mean to sound so lame..i'm sorry if i made anyone who's reading this post to get mad about what i said about my QR score. for QR part yes, i'm not satisfied honestly because of what i used to get for my practice and that is just my standard i have for myself so yeh. BUT REALLY!!!! I WANTED TO LET OTHERS KNOW THAT QR CAN REALLY BRING YOUR SCORE DOWN AND IT'S HARD TO GET THE SCORE YOU USED TO GET. i mean i used to get like 28s and 30s and mine went down for about 10 which is a lot.. and from my experinc this can really happen because it's the last section and is much more complicated than what you see from pratice tests. plus i was more asking about my RC score because i thought 18 i good enough but then it's saying 38.1% which made me to get worried.. but yeh, i'm sorry if i sounded like a freak.. 🙁

First things first - overall you did an awesome job, so congratulations.

If you want some truthful feedback that isn't simply just mocking your request for advice, however, I'd tell you that you should be more concerned about your RC score than how you did on the QR section.

What you've heard about the RC section is true - it is in fact probably the most important single section on the DAT. Many of the top tier dental schools (Harvard, UCLA, Penn, Columbia, UNC, etc.) weigh this section very heavily. Although people have obtained interviews/acceptances with low(er) RC section scores, common sense will tell you that these schools are receiving lots of apps from many applicants that have near flawless stats. A high GPA could offset a non-ideal overall or single section DAT score, but this isn't really the case for you.

HOWEVER... don't fret. As previous posters have indicated, all of your scores are > 18 and your TS and AA are excellent, so you don't need to be too concerned. Just realize that your RC score could (and I emphasize COULD) be your Achilles heel when it comes to your chances at some of the more "elite" dental schools.

Hope this helped, and good luck...
