So I have to start off by thanking every single person on this forum, you guys rock, I love how everyone tries to help one another instead of competing against them. We are all in this together 😉

So here it is!! Let me know what you think. This is my re-take. Sorry about the formatting it didn't work for me.

8-5-09 8-6-10

18 AA 20 AA
18 TS 20 TS
17 PAT 22 PAT
17 RC 20 RC
18 QR 19 QR
20 BIO 23 BIO

17 OC 19 OC
18 GC Both times!!🙁

So I studied from about June until my test, for the first few weeks it was probably 4-5 hours a day, and then in July I kicked it up to 10-12 hours a day. Took weekend nights off when I had plans. Be sure to take breaks here and there or you will go crazy!!

The first time I took the DAT I studied Jan-March, then took a break for spring quarter, then studied for 6 weeks while also taking summer courses, and only studied 4 days a week.

This time around I took the Kaplan online course (just ask for $200 off and they give it to you) it has really good practice tests and the workshops really break it down.

I also used CDP 5 test version, It was actually REALLY similar to my real PAT test. A word of advice I received that is golden from a fellow SDNer is go through the angles quickly otherwise they start to look the same and you waste time.
**** ALSO, use the tick tack toe method on here for hole punching, you will never miss one, I used to get 11 correct, and it went up to 15!!! What you do it draw a 4x4 square on your board and put dots or x's each time you mentally unfold the one on the screen so you know exactly where the holes will show up when it is unfolded. Lemme know if you need clarification.

OC- used Destroyer and roadmaps, Kaplan, flashcards, and CHADS VIDEOS!!!!! This section wasn't so bad, I just tend to second guess myself.

GC - Chad's vids and Kaplan, for some reason I scored the same, I was hoping for at least a 20, and I thought Chad explained everything really well. Oh well, hope its not a deal breaker

BIO - Kaplan, Cliffs, and those review notes everyone talks about, I got them from here, they are really good!! Ask me if you need the link

QR - Kaplan

RC - NO PIANO THIS TIME!! 👍 Search and Destroy, honestly it is time saving. What I did was look at 2 questions and a time and search for either, and by the time you find the answer for another question you find the other one.

Let me know how you think I did and if you have any questions!!!!! HERE'S SUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations!! Really good scores.

Are you referring to Alan's notes by chance?

Could you please post your Topscore results? Also, how was the QR section in terms of difficulty?

mx41 I didn't use topscore, I used it last year and I honestly think Kaplan is the best for simulating the real DAT and the QR section is really similar to Kaplan, I just ran out of time because the stupid calculator lags lol.

MaroonBio- search for "hole punching method" on this forum and they explain it really well. Basically you draw a 4x4 square with 16 holes just like on the test, and then as you mentally unfold each fold on each question, put dots or x's where the holes would appear. It'll come to you with short practice.

Thanks all you guys for your input!! More advice would be appreciated as well and let me know if you guys have other questions👍

Hey Guys,

Forgot to mention I have a 3.21 overall GPA, 3.09 sGPA and 3.6 non science GPA. Have plently of extra currics, sports, leadership, shadowing etc. I am applying to all Cali schools (Cali res) except loma and usc. Also applied to Nova, UNLV, Midwestern IL, and NYU.

With that GPA, you think I can get in this time?:xf:
