Hey everyone. Been meaning to reply but I've been out of town away from the computer. First off, I took the DAT last year and got an 18 AA. I wasn't too far along in my undergrad and kind of took the test on a whim, so I tried to focus and bump things up this year.
Here's my scores from last year/this year:
PAT: 21/22 (96th pct)
QR: 15/17
RC: 18/26 (99th pct)
BIO: 17/18
GC: 18/20
OC: 18/21
TS: 17/20
AA: 18/20
Overall I'm satisfied with the improvement. Hopefully I won't need to take it again. Still dislike QR though. 🙂
My RC definitely went up the most. My strategy was just to make a quick outline using a few keywords. Afterwards, I was able to find the area of the passage quite a bit quicker. (Kaplan's method) Some say it takes too much time but as evident by my score, it can work. I suppose in the end it's a matter of personal preference though whether to make an outline or "search and destroy". Up to you.
Is it worth applying this late in the cycle with my stats: 3.35 overall/3.1 science? I'm a bit low in the GPA area so I thought maybe I'd need to spend a couple semesters getting that higher then apply next cycle. What do you guys think?
