QR- 22
PAT- 21
BIO- 20
GC- 21
OC- 22
TS- 21
AA- 21 😀

i'm very happy with my scores, but i'm wayyyyyy more happy that it's over. i discovered this site about a month ago, and it actually saved my life (besides the fact that it turned into my new facebook/biggest distraction). i started studying first week of june for about 4-5 hours a day not including weekends, got serious in july and studied abouut 12-14 hours a day for the last 4-5 weeks. so here's my breakdown:

PAT- much easier than kaplan, MUCHHHHHHH easier than achiever. if you studied for it at all, it honestly was not bad.. i just hardly put in any time for this section.

BIO- okay, this section straight up sucked. for all of you that are cramming in your last few weeks, i would honestly recommend spending the least amount of time on bio. I used KBB and destroyer. i studied a ****ton for this section, but i still did not recognize at least 15 of these questions. I thought i was going to get a 16-18 on this section. maybe it has to do with the fact that I didn't use the AP cliffs notes that everyone talks about, but I really felt that I had a great grasp on most bio topics. so wrong, woops.

GC- used destroyer and KBB. destroyer is definitely enough for this section. went through it once and reread everything once. the real thing seemed very simple in comparison.

OC- as everyone says, very basic. destroyer overdoes it, but i would definitely recommend it. especially the roadmaps. also the kaplan subject tests helped me on this part.

QR- i didn't study for this section until 2 weeks before the test, and like most people, i discovered that it's one hell of a section. i overnighted math destroyer and went through the first 9 tests. it really saved my life. buy itttttttttttt.

RC- i was very worried about this section going in- i was getting 15-17 on achiever and 17-18 on kaplan. i read on some girls breakdown that she read through all of the questions before she read the passage, and this really saved me. i tried it for the first time during the test, and i felt that it realllllly helps.

also, for testing purposes, i used kaplan, which was pretty comparable, ADA, which was MUCH easier than the real thing but definitely a good confidence booster (i'd recommend doing it the day before or two days before), and i did the first 4 achiever tests- which was the biggest waste of money. DO NOT buy it. it destroyed my confidence and made me reconsider my entire career decision/life as I was getting 15-17 on everything, and i didn't learn a thing from it.

sooooooooooo.......... what now? fill out supplemental info? does this include anything besides schools emptying our bank accounts?

great scores congratulations.. destroyer seemed like it helped a lot im using it now hopefully i do well too

What was your RC score?

Also, can you elaborate a little more on your RC method? This is the section I'm struggling the most on!

to Randy822:

There are generally 3 RC strategies most people use.

1) Search and Destroy--read a question, scan the passage for key words until you find it, read the paragraph and answer the question. (I have never used this strategy)

2) The key method--write all the key words for each paragraph, and read the passage well 1 time through, go through the questions and refer to the key words to know what paragraph to go back to and answer the question (The first time I got a 22 on RC with this strategy)

3) The style that i believe murraim used was VicVipers strategy: A more detailed version is found here: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=615852

I am not going to go into it, but I have used this strategy so far on all 3 topscores and scored, 21, 20, and another 21.

oh woops forgot to put that! I got a 22 on RC. MY best advice is to read the passage as if it is the most interesting article you've ever read. I spent the first 2 minutes reading through all of the questions, then spent the next 10-12 minutes reading the passage and answering questions that I remembered reading as I went, and then the last few minutes answering the tone/inference questions.
I first tried reading the whole passage and then answering the questions, but I always ran out of time and honestly just got bored and didn't absorb much. Then I tried search and destroy, and I found that I only got the specific questions right.
