Well, it's finally my turn! I just took my DAT today and I'm SO HAPPY to be done! No more studying for me (at least not until dental school, that is)! Although, I don't know what I'll do with all this free time now. I've gotten so used to spending 8-12 hours a day at Starbucks or the library for the past two months! Thanks to everyone out there in SDN world that was so encouraging! 😀 You guys rock!

Here are my scores:

PAT 20 (81.0)
QR 19 (92.9)
RC 20 (78.5)
BIO 19 (83.5)
GC 22 (95.2) 🙂
OC 22 (94.0) 🙂

TS 21 (96.2)
AA 20 (93.4)

And the Break Down:

PAT - This is the only section that I was a little disappointed with. I was getting 22-24 on practice tests, so I though I would do a little better. Can't complain about a 20 though. I used CDP (10 tests) to study, as well as Barron's DAT and Cliff's DAT.

QR - I was so surprised that I actually finished all of the questions, and with three minutes to spare! I used to have to blindly guess on the last 10 problems on the CDM practice tests because I ran out of time! Practicing A LOT really helped me with my timing. Along with CDM (10 tests), I used Barron's and Cliff's DAT to study. I also watched Chad's video on trigonometry and memorized the unit circle lol. Overall, I was pleased with this score.

RC - So, I can honestly say that I didn't study much for this section. I am a pretty slow reader and I thought that I wouldn't really be able to get a high score in this section anyway. I took the practice tests in Barron's DAT and Cliff's DAT and used the search and destroy method. I was getting 18s across the board. I had Crack the Reading, but didn't use it at all--it came free with the package I bought. So as you can imagine, I was super pleased to get a 20 on this section! The passages I got were pretty straightforward, so I ended up reading them all the way through and writing down key words. This made it much easier to answer the questions. I wish I would have done the practice tests this way! Maybe I could have done even better! It was kind of crazy of me to change up my method ON THE DAY OF THE TEST, but I guess it worked out in my favor. 🙂

BIO - This section was super random, just like everyone says! There were some questions that were really easy and some that were wayyy beyond the scope of even the Kaplan book (which I used to study). I had to dig deep into my memory of freshman biology! Besides the Kaplan book (MCAT, not DAT), I dusted off my old Cliff's AP Biology book (which got me a 5 on the AP test all those years ago) and also used Barron's DAT and Cliff's DAT. I took a few of the Crack the Science tests, but didn't find them too helpful. I reviewed Alan's notes from Course Saver as well.

GC - I am so happy with my chemistry scores! I guess it helps that I was a chemistry major in college! The most helpful thing I used to study for this section was Chad's videos. They were a great refresher of freshman and sophomore chemistry. I also took the quizzes that accompanied the videos. Barron's DAT and Cliff's DAT were helpful tools as well. Again, Crack the Science was a waste.

OC - Again, Chad's videos were a great refresher! I also used my old OC professor's notes. I had an emphasis in organic chemistry in college, so I had lot of class and lab notes to look through lol. I read the Kaplan MCAT book as well for this section, but I feel like it covered a lot more than you really needed to know. Barron's DAT and Cliff's DAT were okay. All in all, the test was pretty fair and straightforward.

I am SOOO happy about my TS 21 and AA 20! Over this long adventure of studying, I never thought I would get scores like this and I am so happy! More than anything, I am happy (and relieved) to be done!!!

In case you were interested, I just graduated in May 2010 with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry and French. My GPA was 3.68 and my Science GPA was 3.61. Do you think with my GPA and scores that I could get into Midwestern (Glendale)? That is where I really want to go! I have been shadowing for awhile now and have a lot of leadership and community service experience from college. What do you think?

Thanks again everyone, and good luck to those of you who are yet to take the exam! :luck: Put your mind to it and have a good attitude, and you will kick some butt!
