Hey predentals,
first of all I want to thank all of you for all your help, I'm new to this site but during the past 2 months you guys have been extreeeaamly helpful. so THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!🙂
I took the test today after 2 months of studying and here are my scores:

PAT 22
Bio 20
Gchem 17
Ochem 19
TS 19
RC 15
QR 15
AA 17

I took the kaplan class, had destroyer, achiver, topscorem and schaums bio outline.

BIO: there were no diversity questions, but there were alot of lab questions like electrophoresis and frap, also I had 1 image of a cell that I needed to identify. bio was the worst.

Gchem: was so easty (and I am so mad at myself fot getting a 17) 🙁 all conseptual only looking at the periodic table and the calculations were all written out, just like all the members in here were saying.

Ochem: was easy, just read destroyer roadmaps and you're more then prepared.

PAT: was fun, I never studied for pat just did the practice tests and never even had time to review my mistakes.

RC: was hard, or at least hard for me. too many tone questions, qr alot of word problems, three geometry and only one, only one!!! trig problem, no crazy probablility questions.

I am pleased with most of them, because I really thought I did the worst in bio, I really don't know how I got a 20! 🙄 But gchem I though I at least got a 19 but like you can see, not really impressice english is not my first language, i'm not an international student but I've been in the US for only 5 years and I never got anything higher than an 18 on kaplan or other tests. for QR honestly I thought I'm going to do good, because i'm good at math and was getting 19s, 20, and even 23 on subject, but on the test I really ran out of time and the questions were extreamely confusing. I'm really bummed but also pleased with bio, pat and ochem, and I guess my gchem us OK. , but I'm really worried about my QR and RC and can stop thinking of how I ruined my AA with those two. I would appritiate any thoughts you guys have regarding my scores. I've applied to 19 schools: UOP, UCLA, UCSF, UOP, LLU, VCU, NEW JERSEY, NYU, UNLV, michigan, chicago, boston, buffalo, tufts, UF, arizona, midwestern, maryland, temple, and I have tons and tons of dental experince: working at a dental clinic with specialists and geral dentists for 3 years, alot of free dental clinic work, dental volunteer and fundraising experience, 3 dental lab technician certificates and x-ray certified, and more dental related stuff. do you guys think I have achance? is my Gchem ok? what is the cut-off for RC and RC, any shot at usc or uop? any shot anywhere??????????🙁thanks a bunch, let me know if anyone has any questions, good luck studying and with the rest of the apps! :luck:

You might get interview offers here and there, but imho that DAT is not really competitive, especially the 2 15s. 15 on QR is OK because schools place the least emphasis on that section, but RC, on the other hand, is one of the most valued sections...

But its already september, so I just maybe you just roll with that score and see what happens.

I think you did fine especially with your TS and PAT good job. Before I tell you what I think about your chances, what is your GPA?

your RC score is going to hold you back. Also I was told by the Dean of Admissions at NYU Dental that 17 AA was the national average like 2 years ago and the national average might even be a little higher now that its getting so cut throat so your overall isnt exactly competitive either but if you have a high gpa then that can offset the low DAT score to some extent and improve your chances. In any case though regardless of your gpa being high or low your RC score is going to be a problem.
If you would like a more concrete answer, you should probably fix an appointment with the Dean of Admissions at the dent schools you are interested in so you can speak to them in person and take your DAT score report and college transcript along with you.

thanks for your inputs, my gpa is 3.2 and I'm from UCSD and english is my second language, I just want to go to dental school, anywhere!!!

oppps, I meant english is not my first language and it's been only 5 years since I came to the US

I'm sure you'll get interviews but the English as sec language won't help U much, Like I came here 7 years ago and English is my sec language too but I got 21 on RC, AA:20 TA,21 PAT:22, so there maybe some problems with your rc. But still good job with the PAT.

I'd totally retake the exam.
I have similar score as you and I'm planning to retake during mid Oct.
