its finally over! it went pretty well

PAT 20
QR 18🙁
RC 22
BIO 22
GC 21
OC 27😀

TS 22
AA 22

GPA- 3.89 Science GPA 3.8

i mainly used destroyer, but i also had cliffs ap bio and kaplan book, along with topscore and CDP. I felt the kaplan dat 2009-10 edition was lacking a lot of material in the bio- it didnt have anything on plants!! i would only buy it if you dont remember any g chem or o chem. btw the guy who started kaplan in the 60s died recently- just a small news tidbit.

The worst part about the dats is that if u get 3 wrong in a section ur score drops 7-8 points! oh well.
The hole punching on the actual dat was much easier than cdp and i didnt think the angles were that bad either.
My advice when you go to take the test- bring earplugs and they give you a terrible dry erase sheet- its impossible to erase! you could spend many precious seconds scrubbing the marker off! but thanks to SDN i read about this before so i wore an old long sleeve shirt and with one swipe of my shirt sleeve i erased the whole thing at once! now the shirt is in the garbage.

Thanks everybody on SDN your posts were all very helpful.🙂

Solids scores 🙂 congrats!

.. and I was going to do the same thing with the shirt.. I figured I don't want to waste any seconds. It'd be funny if the two of us were sitting close to one another

I'm really starting to wonder how TS is actually calculated... seems like it should definately be higher than 22.. and congrats on those solid scores!

i was JUST thinking that. my ochem was definitely not that high.

congratulations! it's finally overrrrrr

WOW!
Congrats, those are some crazy scores and a killer GPA! you're def. getting in 🙂

Congrats. Standardized tests tend to be very non-linear at both ends of the curve. The difference between a 18 and a 19 on TS (up to 10 incorrect), between a 19 and a 20 on TS (9 incorrect), but up to 9 incorrect is also the difference between a 22 and a 30 on TS.

Do you mind telling us the content of the chem and organic sections on your test?

You (and me for that matter) could have come in on the low side of a 22TS and the OP on the high end (almost 23). I mean a 27 compared to a 22 really only means 1 or 2 more questions answered correctly right?

OP - Congrats, those scores are great!

Copy/paste from arginine's thread that I responded to:

Each of the sciences is based on (raw score)/(section total). TS is based on (total raw score)/(total). Bio is out of 40, Ochem and Gchem out of 30. TS out of 100. Since high percentile raw scores start skipping standard scores (eg 30/30 might be a 30, but 29/30 might be a 25), it can happen that you get higher standard scores than TS score, since missing, say, the first 5 hurts your standard score much more than missing the next 5.

Checking out the example score conversion off ada:
http://www.ada.org/prof/ed/testing/d...mate_score.pdf

Your score was bio/gchem/ochem 21/19/29
Looking at the example chart, that might have meant you got 35/40 bio, 24/30 gchem, 29/30 ochem. That makes your TS 88/100, which correlates to a 21. This is just based on the ada's sample conversion, but it seems to be close to how your real sciences and TS score came out."

Missing the questions in bio and gchem lowers your TS score more than the fewer number of wrong ochem questions raises it.

CDP is CRACK DAT PAT! It is on top of this page...😀, come here more you will know what is piano and croc...😉

can someone tell me what CDP is and where do i get it??
also, what is a piano paragraph and a crocodile paragraph??

Down to 24TS, score goes down by 1 per 1 q missed..
94/100 = 24TS
95/100 = 25TS
96/100 = 26TS so on..

To get a 20 TS, you could miss 15-19 / 100
21TS, 12-14 / 100
22TS, 9-11 / 100
23TS, 7-8 / 100
