Hey everyone,

I took the DATs on Sept 24. Here are the winning numbers....

PAT 22
RC 20
QR 18
OC 19
GC 19
Bio 18
TS 19
AA 19

So as with everyone let me hear what you all think of my chances with a 3.82 GPA. Be totally honest.....

I also plan to post my prep work and materials and what i thought of the test shortly..... 🙂

Congrate! Your DAT look really nice; plus, your GPA is out standing. I think you'll be invited for the interview somewhere for sure.
I'm waiting for a post of your studying and DAT experience.
I am going to take DAT ont his Fri. Good luck to me 😉

Hey everyone,

So i would still love feedback on how you all think i stand. But as for my prep work. I will admit I did not study as hard as many of the people on this forum. I did take the Kaplan course, which i do recommend:

1. For the structure, so you know each topic you need to study for each subject. I took the online course because i did not feel like driving to class during the summer. I was at first debating whether i should just study on my own, but i know for a fact that had i not taken the kaplan course i would have easily missed over 30 percent of the material that i would never have guessed would be tested. Kaplan was also good for the amount of PAT practice they gave you. There are numerous practice PAT sections ranging in difficulty. The keyhole, top front end, cube counting and pattern folding were very accurate with difficulty. THe angle ranking and hole punching were much harder on the real test. The angles were very close to each other on the real test. Kaplan did not test on the complexity of folds in hole punching that were on the test. But none the less the PAT prep was good. The gen chem was sufficient, the o chem was decent but needs to be supplimented with either a textbook or i highly recommend Destroyer which i was lucky enough to borrow from a friend. THE EQUATIONS ON THE ROAD MAPS ARE CLUTCH!!!! If you remember them the reacton questions will be cake. THe biology part for kaplan is like an appetizer, it just gives you enough to hold you over minimally, i would highly highly recommend a textbook. I unfortunately did not use one and regret it. I didnt check destroyer for bio either but others say its great, but def. dont just rely on kaplan.

2) BUY DESTROYER IF YOU CAN!! The millions of questions are key because their explanations are much better than kaplans random rounding methods for any time of calcs. and like i said the ochem section will be the reason you excel in that area.

3) I took the kaplan course which is about 3 months but ended up only studying for the last three weeks, due to distractions of summer. I studied while having a full course load for the first month of college. I would actually recommend only studying for a month max. but without college being in session because i found myself forgetting some of the things that i studied early on and having to go back and review them. Its like a college class, when the ends rolls and you have to take a final you have to go back and review everything you learned in the begining which was like 3 months ago. SO since you should have taken all these subjects just spend one hardcore month reviewing it all......

I would like to thank everyone on this site for their feedback, help and tips. It really helped me in the whole DAT studying process, i can now switch over to another forum about applications and such. I will continue to be a frequent visitor of this great site!!!
