Took the DAT today and i'm glad it's over. Here's the breakdown:
PAT: 17
QR: 17
RC: 24
BIO: 22
GC: 21
OC: 26
TS: 23
AA: 22
Bio: used Kaplan blue book, Kaplan MCAT books, Exam Krackers and Campbell. The questions on my test were straight forward, no tricks or surprises.
GC and OC: Used mostly Kaplan MCAT and Exam Kracker books. A few tricky questions here, but stay calm and you should be able to work though them.
QR: This section was really hard! I guessed on at least 12, so I was satisfied with a 17. Know your geometry!
RC: Thought this section was pretty easy. Quickly read each passage and wrote down 'buzzwords' pertaining to each paragraph. Sure enough they appeared in the question stems.
PAT: I really struggled here. The only resources I had was Kaplan and clearly that wasn't enough.
Science GPA 3.82
Non Science GPA 3.87
B.S. Biochemistry Minor in Music and Biology
30 Hours of shadowing with more in coming weeks.
300+ hours of bone research
What do you guys think my chances are for class of 2009? I am pretty worried about my PAT score, but I'm not sure how heavily it's weighed in the admissions process. Has anyone gotten interviews with average PAT scores? I applied to Temple, PENN, Maryland, NYU and Columbia. Thanks for the feedback!!
