so guys after exactly 3 months (started june 4th) of study and a lot of nights (and days ) with no sleep i took my DAT today. here is my scores from lowest to highest:

PAT 14 (still don't know what went wrong)
QR 16 (very dissapointed, knew my math preeyt good)
RC 16 (English as a fourth language)
Bio 18
GChem 20
Orgo 23

TS 20
AA 19

PAT - one of my strongest sections going in to exam. also, in the cube counting i had a problem with the screen (will try to resolve it tommorow with the ADA, defenatly will demand a retake ASAP)

Bio - gotta know your bio from your college classes. in at least half of the Questions you had to apply logic and knowledge. the destroyer definatly is a good practice tool in addition to your college textbook (i used the 7th edition of Campbell).

Gchem - a lot more concepts then calcualtions. If you studynig the Destroyer, study the concepts behind every problem and u will be fine. plus practice a lot to get used to see chemistry in general.

Orgo - one word - DESTROYER. u got everything u need to know right there.

MATH - practice word problems (hard ones, not the one that in top score and achiever) and know your trig. I took all 3 levels of calculus and got an A in all of them. this exam take u back to 7th grade in the math level, which most of it u forgot. guys, i have no solution for u on this section, just pray and practice

RC - to look up the answers is a BIG mistake, u got to read the passege before u answers the questions. as far as i go, i am good in reading and writing in English, but 60 minutes for reading and answering 50 Q's for somebody who speak, read and write another 3 languages besides english is not enough.

so what u think guys, do i have at least have a chance to get to NYU with these scores ?
i am a chem major with about 3.6 GPA overall and about 3.45 sGPA with advance clasees such physics, biochem, and calculus.

Hey man:

Other than your PAT, other scores are pretty solid. Get ADA to allow your retake immediately and improve that to about a 17-18 and I think you would be set. Good luck.

UB defianetely looks at PAT scores, and some schools at least 17. So definately try to resolve the issue with ADA.

man i was thinking u would do better. ah well what can you do. just study harder and try again. good luck.
