Hi everyone,

I'm extremely happy that it's over! However, I'm not too happy with my scores=> I failed QR miserably!
Please give me your input on my chances in getting into a school for 2009. I applied to 20 schools. Im upset because my GPA is not very competitve 3.29 cum, 3.19 science that's why I was hoping for a strong DAT.

Anyway, here are my scores.

PAT 18
QR 13
RC 22
BIO 19
GC 20
OC 22
AA 19
TS 20

I have over 500 hrs of volunteer work & community service. 80+ hours of dental shadowing.
I might have to retake huh? Thanks! You're advice is greatly appreciated!

I know some schools have cut off for DAT scores and the QR might hurt you even though its not one of the natural sciences. You might want to consider retaking and improving your QR score but your Bio OC and GC are very good.

You could try, but probably plan on a retake.

Wow, I can't imagine getting a worse QR score that me (I got a 14). Lol, we're in the same boat. Well, I think that a 14 is bad, but there is no way in hell I am retaking that thing. Good luck and I hope they can overlook our math isssues! 🙂

I can't believe how similar our scores are..only diff is RC20 and QR15..
I hope your extracurriculars overshadow your QR scores!! GL

In my opinion ur situation is not certain. Ur ec is great, but ur gpa is not. U have some strong sections on DAT, but ur qr is very low. At first which school will(did) u apply? I can easily say that ur score cannot put u in ivy league schools.However, u have a good chance to get an acceptance. If u do not want to retake DAT, be careful with ur school choice. I think that retaking can be another logical solution, because 13 qr can be easily improved to 16-17 with a fair amount of studying. ur TS is competitive and ur aa score is good.

dont feel too bad... i got a 13 in QR as well. you did a lot better than me in the sciences though. i'm retaking cause of my sciences and to boost the qr to at least a 15... if i was you i def would not retake... your sciences are really good. you might not get into the ivy leages, but who cares... your still a dentist.

If you are going to do it, do it asap! It seems you didn't choose the ds when you registered DAT. It will take at least 2.5 weeks even tho it's now being done electronically. Your RC score is fancy. GL!

Its a bummer with the QR b/c the rest of your scores are good and you have good EC but with the low GPA you will probably have to retake. Where you applying?
