Ok, so after 3-4 months of half-ass studying/diliberating what to do, I took the DAT again today. Took it once in June and this is how I did:

PAT 22
QR 21
RC 18
BIO 20
GC 20
OC 19
TS 19
AA 20

I'm trying to get into UW and I heard that they paid attention to RC, which was one factor pushing me to retake since I scored low on it. I thought these scores were ok, so I wasn't sure if retaking was a good idea. I decided to bite the bullet and do it again b/c I felt like I might have rushed into taking it the first time (so I could apply early) and I could've done better. Well, here are the results from today:

PAT 21👎
QR 22
RC 23👍
BIO 19👎
GC 23👍
OC 21👍
TS 20
AA 22👍

It's funny, because throughout the PAT (everyone know's the real DAT PAT is a monster and impossible to do well on) I kept on telling myself that I was gonna ace it... low and behold I actually did worse 😕 I raised the scores that I had hoped to raise while relatively keeping my other scores about the same... (maybe?) But at least now I'm in the 96th percentile 😎 (AA-wise) versus 86th percentile (AA), lol if that means anything. I dunno, I'm glad I did better but the fact that I did worse in BIO and PAT worries me a little. What are your guys' opinions? Did this help or hurt me?

wsup Mr. DDS,

Im applying this coming cycle in June. Im an undergrad at UW at this point and I would have to say your DAT has improved and will help you. In my opinion, I dont think that schools look down on your scores if you lose a point on a subject or two. Im sure that the schools know how the DAT works and that that one point could have been a matter of no more then a few questions. As long as you don't have any dramatic differences in the negative direction you should be fine. Thats my opinion of course. Your RC has greatly increased which is a good thing! Your academic average got a nice bump up. Id say your looking good and you should be proud of your good work! Now to get those midterms.

i would say dont worry about it. from waht the dean of uop said, a point up or down in the 20's is a reallys mall difference compared to a point up or down in the teens. like if you got a 16 on something its a lot more points missed than a 17, whereas if you got a 23 on something its not that much more missed than a 24. so yea you raised overall, which is great!
