Hi everyone,

So here it is:

PA 18
QR 1🙁
RC 17
Bio 21
GC 19
OC 15
TS 18
AA 17

I am a hygienist and have been for 5 years. In my last year of undergrad. GPA 2.98 3 reference letters from Prof's and 4 from Dentists. I applied to 12 schools and I am a Canadian student and a minority (if that makes a difference, which I heard it can) Also, I am a mature student.

Do you think i should retake the DAT? Feed back pleeease...Im pullin my hair out!

hey man, sorry about your DAT scores looks like you're going to need a retake. An 11 is too low even for QR and and the 15 in orgo is low too...Your bio and gc scores are solid With a <3gpa you're going have to shoot for 20+ on the DAT. What kind of minority are you because it only matters if you are African American/Native American. Not sure what the take is on international students who are minorities. For orgo, make sure you really know your rxns cold, sn1/sn2/e1/e2...for QR just practice any kind of math you can get your hands on...gl mann

Yeah that QR and that OC are too low. I would say apply to Howard and Meharry since you are a minority but a 11 math and 15 in organic might be too low for those schools too. I say retake. Maybe study for a while and apply next cycle.

It's hard to hear this, but yeah you really do need to retake. Sections to focus on is QR and OC for your next test. QR could be drastically improved with practice and practice alone after you know all the fundamentals and basics. Depending on what your foundation in Organic Chemistry is like, I would suggest starting with Kaplan and then working your way through the Destroyer. Your other scores are average to good, and I believe you could improve on them as well. Improving them will only help make your application more competitive. Good Luck.

Sorry to hear this. You definitely need a retake. The 11 on QR is too low. I would recommend taking an intermediate algebra or percalc class. Based on the info you provided [ a hygienist for 5 years], I assume you have fogot a lot of the math you knew 5 years ago. Taking a couple of math classes can definitely help. Good luck

I'm sure you're a greeeeat student, but some of those scores are just too low. And don't depend on the fact that you're a minority. It can make a difference but still give it your all. Good luck
