Breakdown:
Bio...well only studied from Kaplan BB i memorized it all in one month as that was all time i had to prepare..since i made the decision to apply a tad bit late. But i must say many questions touched on first year biology topics..kaplan BB was definitely NOT enough. But, i was reading posts on here and i knew going in that was the case so really was happy with my 19.
Chem: Kaplan BB...was fairly easy and had i had time to review i probably would have scored higher.
Organic: exactly same as chem...i really wonder why i didnt score higher in both..i felt like i aced it. Oh well its been a while since i've seen both subjects lol
BTW people! My topscore pro marks were much lower than the real thing..well except for Bio..used to get 19 and 20.
But my scores for Chem and Organic were 17/18/18, 15/19/14 respectively. When i was reading some posts here i was freaking out as they were getting high 20s on topscore pro yet average real DAT scores. Do realize that people take the tests at different times in their study and there is an incredible amount of variables that can make it hard for us to compare. So in a sense i am trying to encourage people out there with low Topscore marks!
PAT: practiced CDP and topscore...difficulty was like CDP. My scores in CDP were starting at 18s but moved to 20s and 21s later. I guess i got a bit nervous and feel my performance went down a bit. But i ll take the 19! when i started this i thought i wouldnt even get a 17!
RC: Well i was kind of freaking out from posts here as I saw people scoring real low! But i felt it was pretty easy for me...second passage felt like verbal reasoning in MCats as it was more about thinking and analyzing rather than S&D.
QR: Ok i really dont know what happened here. Im good at math and i was getting each question right..but for some reason i wasnt keeping good track of time. I saw a post by UntamedFox on here (sorry if i missed your nick properly). But i ended up in the same spot...had 1 minute left and 9 questions unanswered...so just put in C for all of them. Problem is not difficulty..its that there were much more word questions than the practice exams and LOTS of calculations. Oh well..I hope 17 doesnt kill my chances.
About the handsome me..well GPA 3.83 in Sci and Overall (Bioinformatics Major). Canadian applicant, Master's degree (in Computer Sci) with GPA 4 (on 4 courses semester though) and publication on its way for for final review..lots of other research experience! No dental shadowing as I just decided to apply recently..but lots of other ECs. Applied to Harvard, Penn, Boston U, NYU, Case, Maryland, UCSF, Michigan, Columbia...i might apply to a couple of more schools..NOVA maybe? any advice people?
I feel my DAT is kinda average and my chances would be low at Harvard, Penn and Columbia.
