Hey everyone. I'm mainly a lurker here, but I decided I'd give back to the rest of you who are waiting to take the DAT. I've learned a ton from reading this forum, so hopefully I can give back a little.

24AA
29TS
22PAT

26 Bio- Different, that sums it all up for this section. Different from any practice test i've taken. I dont think I got a single "random" question about something I've never seen before in undergrad, but I did get a couple questions that I only knew because of some upper level bio courses. I Used cliff's AP and kaplan DAT review notes for this section. This section made you think.

29 GC- Destroyer. get it, do it. Btw, never broke a 19 in any practice test (Topscore and Achiever) for this section haha. It's really basic stuff.

28 OC- Destroyer. get it, do it. Again, basic stuff.

22PAT- Not bad. CDP is a DEFINITE buy. I'd give it a 10/10 rating. I used all 10 tests btw. If u have time, I'd recommend buying all 10 tests.

18 RC- Again, it was just different.

19 QR- This was my worst section coming in, i was really freaked out about it. Honestly though, just put the time into math destroyer and I dont see why an 18+ isn't easily obtainable. The calculator was an awsome feature. This section really wasn't hard, seriously. There were a lot of word problems but none that were insane.

Btw, I'd reccomend Achiever 1,2,3. and TS. I bought the 5 test version of achiever and wow, after doing the first 40 bio questions of test 4 and getting a 15, I decided it was just not productive to kill my confidence a couple days before the test. Btw, the QR and reading on 4 and 5 is insane so dont take it seriously, just use it for practice if you do buy it. Test 5 Qr i think i got a 14, and RC a 15.

Practice test scores: Achiever

Bio/GC/OC/PAT/RC/QR/TS/AA
1. 21/19/23/NA/17/20/21/20
2. 21/18/20/18/18/16/20/19
3. 17/18/21/NA/17/18/19/18

Topscore:
Bio/GC/OC/PAT/RC/QR/TS/AA
1. 20/19/19/21/20/20/20/20
2. 22/19/25/21/22/19/22/21
3. 19/19/21/20/20/21/20/20

Dude, awesome scores!
Did you just do practice tests for PAT, QR, GC, and OC or did you use supplemental information stuff.
And how long did you study for?
thanks and congrats again!

Did you feel that the DAT destroyer was too hard compared to the test?
I am going through it right now and it is kicking my ass. How well did you do in going through the DAT destroyer when you were studying?

Great scores! I hope mine are that good. I just did achiever test 4 and it was insane. What kind of scores were you getting on topscore and achiever 1, 2, and 3?

PAT was just practice. I did 1 test a week 2 months out. 1 Month out I did 2 tests a week, and did my final one (test 6 of CDP, 24) yeserday. I went through every single question i got wrong on all 10 tests, and sometimes redid sections. Great program. QR was math destroyer and SAT math review. GC and OC was a combination of destroyer and an MCAT princeton review hyperlearning book for chemistry (great if you need to learn the basics). Ill edit my first post with my practice scores from everything in a little.

Wow, great scores. Congrats.

Looking back, what would you have done differently to improve your QR score?

QR i was honestly just looking for an 18+ coming in so i'm pretty happy with my score. If i could do something different, It would be to brush up on algebra and manipulating expressions. The word problems weren't an issue for me at all, I found them easier to be honest.

Gen chem i probably got half right my first time through. SO many tricks. But if you can master those, your in very good shape. Same with OC, even more tricks there. But honestly, the best thing about destroyer is reading the explanations and learning from your mistakes. That's where the treasure is in that book. One thing I gotta add is, know chemistry at a basic conceptual level too, dont neglect the basic concepts. The calculations are way harder in Destroyer btw, dont let it get you down. I probably reviewed GC and OC 3 times each, marking each question to redo on my next pass and skipping ones I already knew.

Great scores! I hope mine are that good. I just did achiever test 4 and it was insane. What kind of scores were you getting on topscore and achiever 1, 2, and 3?

Ill edit my post up top, but my highest score on TS was a 21. I got a 20 on Achiever 1, 19 on 2, and 18 on 3.

yeah this is what i've been able to gather as well, and thank God too b/c GC could be the hardest section if they wanted it to be, regarding formulas etc.

i am working on achiever right now and my scores are around 15-18. Looking at your post really motivates me and at the same time puts me in ease. so thank you.

Hi! Congrats on your awesome score!!!!!!👍
Seriously everyone here's so good.. Hope i'll be like that in 2 weeks as well. If you had 2 weeks to prepare, what would you recommend for studying Bio? and what do you mean different in RC??

Thanks. For bio, with only 2 weeks, I would recommend cell biology/molecular stuff. RC wasn't bad, it was just different from the practice tests. It felt like a hybrid of an achiever/Topscore RC. Good Luck on your test!

congrats
i'm using the destroyer as well as kaplan BB and cliff notes.
I hope i get scores similar to yours
well done again

Nice scores!!!!

You give me confidence in the natural sciences. I took some practice achiever and topscore, and am getting 21's and highers consistently. Hopefully I get get a 25+ TS too.

Anyways, for QR, did you only go through destroyer? I bought schaums college algebra and am looking to go through it. How did the destroyer questions compare to the real DAT? Harder, easier? Was there more emphasis on certain topics like trig?

Thanks ahead of time.

I would kill something cute and furry for your scores. Just don't flunk the interviews. Congratulations. I'm gonna go ahead and inform you to start preparing for a celebration upon your acceptance letter(s) to your dream schools.

Thanks ahead of time.

The destroyer questions were pretty on par with the real thing. The only difference was that the real thing had a lot more word problems, but they really weren't hard or time consuming. I actually think the real DAT qr was easier than any practice test. The most emphasis was on word problems for sure, not much trig. I wouldn't neglect trig though, its easy points in my opinion. good luck.

Just wanted to say thanks man cause referencing your achiever/topscore vs your real DAT was a real stress reliever haha. Took it today. It went well. Thanks again!

Awesome scores - Congrats! I am going through destroyer for gen chem and ochem for the second time in the remaining 6 days that I have left... One question: I am relying on the regular Destroyer for the math section + Kaplan online tests and quizzes and topscore. Is regular Destroyer a good resource compared to what the real test looks like or does it have to be "Math Destroyer"??

I still don't understand how you can get a 26 Bio/29 GC/ 28 OC and still get a 29 TS. Even if you only missed 3, i've never seen 97/100 on Natural Science score a 29, but congrats.

No problem! Glad everything worked out well for you.

I only made it through half of the regular Destroyer's qr section and I would say the questions were similar, but the math destroyer just had a lot more quantity and variations to the problems. I've heard great things about Kaplan's qr. I would say that using Kaplan, destroyer, and topscore for math practice seems like a pretty good combo. Good luck.

He missed only 1, a perfect on his version of the test for GC is probably a 29 and a perfect for OC was probably a 28.
