ok so I finished my dat 3 weeks ago and I got these scores....
bio 22
gchem 21
ochem 21
RC 18
pat 17
QR 16
AA 20

I have mixed feelings,,,, but I faced a problem while taking the exam. 4 questions on the QR section that were related to an image (like finding an area, angle, etc) the image didnt show up on the screen. I contacted ADA and talked with different people over there but they said the only option they will give me is to retake the whole exam again!!!!!
What do you guys think?!!

I really dont want to but my QR score is very low. I wonder if I should mention this issue on my application and just submit these scores??!!

is that even possible? gosh....i feel for u...
why didn't u ask the workers? is that not allowed?

Congrats you score is competitive non the less of the problems you have faced with your dat. you can get into dental schools with your scores.

Ps. it will be really hard to replicate your problem and ada wont jsut easily give you 2 points on your qr. they will obviously make you go round and round and you will give up.

If I were you Id definitely take up their offer and take the whole exam again.

Think of it this way you wont need any time to adjust yourself to the stlye of the exam like you did the first time. Youre more familiar with the exam format and their computers.

Did they specifically say your retake would replace your first exam or just be another attempt?

No point of retaking over a 16 in QR.

you sure thats a right advice for him.

the op seems to be not strong in RC. if he were to retake the dat and get 1 point less then he will be automatically filtered my many schools.

Thanks guys. There is a section on the applications as status disadvantage. Should I write down what happened on there, or I should just let it go and submit it??!!

That's really frustrating! Don't mention the problem in your application. The ADA has given you a chance to retake it. It will look bad if you don't retake it but complain about the situation. You can accept your scores and move on or retake it and try for a better score. Sorry this happened to you.

Unfortunate circumstances, but schools may look down on you for making excuses for your scores, regardless of whether your reasons are legitimate or not.
