Thank you! Yes I definitely know my strengths now. I ordered destroyer tonight. It was the one material I regretted not using the first time around.Retake and fix your mistakes, won't look bad with improvement.
As long as you designate at least one school to send your score to when you sign up, it will be imported into your AADSAS application when you enter your DENTPIN.
destroyer should help you out, it did a good job testing my knowledge, good luckThank you! Yes I definitely know my strengths now. I ordered destroyer tonight. It was the one material I regretted not using the first time around.
Yes!! I get done with finals first week of may. I'm thinking 3-4 weeks to study but still be studying throughout the semesterThe good news is that you have plenty of time to retake and improve your scores. You probably want to retake it before mid July to remain competitive.
Yeah I wouldn't. I know 2 people who did what I did. Me and another guy got the same orgo score. The other has orgo as the lowest section and is now a D2. But, I don't regret it it gave me an insight of how it actually is!Thanks. I was debating on taking the DAT before Ochem2 so I wouldn't have to study alongside classes but now I might not do that.
I am a little concerned by this comment, you didn't do so great last time so I assume this 3-4 weeks you speak of is hopefully longer than the last time you studied? And this is without having taken some of the classes??? You only get so many chances to get this right, rushing in and trying to cram for the test will not give nearly the same results as hard work over longer period. Then you will approach your test confidently, not shaking.Yes!! I get done with finals first week of may. I'm thinking 3-4 weeks to study but still be studying throughout the semester
I have all my prerequisites done except for organic 2 which I am currently in. Im not going to study for 3-4 weeks total. Im studying now and will throughout the semester and i meant 3-4 after the semester ends. So in total a little more than 3 months about. Well my practice scores weren't terrible. I was doing well on PAT (20s) reading 22s organic 16-19s biology 18s and math was about 18. Like i said i changed some answers and double guessed myself which wasn't a good idea also, i don't think practice scores really indicate your real exam score i know i couldve studied differently and this is what i am going to do for next time.I am a little concerned by this comment, you didn't do so great last time so I assume this 3-4 weeks you speak of is hopefully longer than the last time you studied? Personally if I were in your situation, not having had all the classes, you are going to have to double the prep time that most people use, and since you are under more pressure having to show improvement, you might think about studying for 2-3 months. I know it isn't what you want to hear, but going in with diagnostic tests under 20 isn't a great plan if you want to succeed, there are sacrifices to be made.
I'm in the same situation as you are, except I didn't take my exam yet. I am scheduled to take it in December this year. Though, I'm still finishing General Chemistry 2, over the summer I'm taking Microbiology. And, no knowledge Organic Chemistry under my belt till the Fall semester comes which is August 🙁 I paid for my exam, and I rushed to sign up for it. I should have talked to my University Dental Advisor before, but now he advised I don't take it.
I have started to study for it because my most difficult section is Chemistry. But, after reading some posts and posting earlier last week...people have advised I don't take the test to "just check the waters". So I'll be studying till December, but if I don't feel ready I am NOT taking the exam. Luckily, I paid for the exam with money that was left over from my FAFSA; it'll just be a lesson learnt! 😕
You only get 3 shots at it, since you lost one don't let that bring you down! Just take that to your advantage to do STELLAR on the 2nd try! 😀 Now you do know the difficulty of the exam and how you need to progress. I really hope you do well! Also, I started collecting study materials and I found a great Biology Study Guide, I linked it below. Best of luck! Thanks for the post, it has given me an insight on how to go about my test date.

I agree. I didn't do as bad on the ochem section as some would expect without ochem2 but there weren't many things i wasn't familar with. I just want to retake after i finish ochem 2 to hopefully do betterEven though I was fortunate enough not to experience a lot of trouble with organic chemistry, I think you can wing it without OC2. Of course it may be a bit difficult but chad/destroyer/quvualt./bootcamp is more than sufficient if you understand each question. Most of organic 2 is just reactions, the only thing that might wrack your brain a bit is NMR and that other similar topic that I can't recall atm.
I don't think that DAT goes really deep into facts and reactions that you will definitely need orgo 2 to do well on it. what's really important for the orgo section is to have good foundation so you can answer really simple quesetions without hesitating and also be able to deduce correct answer on question that you are not 100% sure.
Using Chad's videos and plethora of other free materials will help you set good foundation.
Good luck!
DEstroyer is a really good material to study with. If you can get 75~80% on destroyer orgo section, you really should be fine on the real thing.
