wow, i didnt realize FRAP was so common, i remember reading about it on here and being like "no way will it happen to me" and when i saw it half way through my science sec, which i didnt even know the answer to btw!!!-- i knew i was screwed..i almost cried.. it brought down my reading from 21- to an 18 🙁 how freaKing sad!!! im a good reader 😡 im so angry... very unfair test.
Anyway the rest are:
PAT 20
QR 16
RC 18😡
BIO 18
GC19
OC 19
So... what should i do?
Re-take? will it be too late?could i bring down my sciences? i already applied.. should i apply to more schools?
Anyway, i used Achiever, Kaplan & Top Score only. i saw about 3 Qs in bio that were exactly like topscore &achiever!!! 🙂 Know genetics- TERMS esp & evolution.
Gchem- 70% calc 30%concept, lots enthalpy, entropy, etc..
ochem- reactions reactions reactions!!! also know what are diasteriomers, sterioisomers, meso, etc
1 q on solubility in water
1q in HNMR
1 in IR
now energy diagrams
oh yeah in bio i got a diagram for my 1st Q- wasnt sure what the hell it was...
ahhh.... i guess im glad its over....

Frap sucks! That passage got me too... but I got at 17 🙁. I know I was getting 21s on my topscore tests too

Topscore RC tests are much easier in my opinion than the real DAT. Prepare to see a decrease in RC score on the real thing.

yes! one of the oc's qs asked which is most soluble in water and it gave fxnal grps like either, alcohol, carbox acid- i mean obviously it was ether b/c its nonpolar
Also for Gen chem know that the highest value for Ksp is the most soluble in water

Since water is polar, shouldn't something that is polar have the highest solubility in water!?

Hey whatever the case may be, you DID get a 19 on the OC sections which I would die to get in two weeks when I take my test. Nice job!

Thanks😳 Honestly though, i hate anything that has the word "chem" in it,i was never good at it, barely getting away with a B in all my chem classes.. because it never interested me. I love bio, anatomy, physio, etc. But doing topscore exams over &over again (i was getting 14s the first time around, 18s 2nd &3rd by the way) helped me to memorize reactions and understand it a little better. The only mechanisms you need to know in detail are SN1 SN2 E1 E2 which are pretty easy, like what solvent to use (polar protic vs aprotic)... write down all the reactions and all of the problems from topscore and review each night before bed- a week later you will see them in your head & on the exam make the connections (thats all i did 🙂

you were probably steamed and didnt realize that ether is insoluble. the harder part would have been knowing the higher the ksp the more souluble. the polar subst are soluble in polar!
i was never a chemistry guy and always loved bio but honestly chemistry in DAT is alot easier than the bio section. i took the DAT on the 10th for the second time, the first time i took it last year i didnt study that much and was really clumpsy, my scores were very close to yours and that made me to become really scare, but the 2nd time that i took it on the 10th, after finishing my science section i knew that i did a good job. the final screen poped out and i had a bio:24 gchem:22 ochem:26, i was so happy that i had done a great job this time, and since i had studied properly this time the whole test was very easy, eventhough english is my third language u managed a 19 on the RC and i could have done better too(i made a mistake in the middle of the section). doing bad b/c of frap is just an excuse, everybody already knows there might be a FRAP question and in the reading section if you do ok you will have enough time no matter what to finish up the whole thing. but advice would be to retake it if your gpa is low and this time destroy it, and stop reposting your things😉
