So I took my DAT today and I was a bit surprised with my scores
PAT 16
QR 16
RC 18
Bio 16
GC 19
OC 20
TS 18
AA 18

I have a 3.5 GPA and 3.38 SGPA, what do you think my chances are to make it this upcoming cycle. I'm a Texas resident, do you think my state schools would be more lenient? Especially with my low bio, QR and PAT 🙁 I know retaking it would be a good idea but I'm still not sure...

I have almost 200 hours worth of volunteering at a hospital, almost 80 hours worth of shadowing my dentist, and other various volunteer activities.

if ur a texas resident, the three schools will highly favor you. honestly i think it's good enough. my friend got into baylor with 18 AA and TS and a 3.6 GPA/sGPA.

An 18/18 isn't bad at all. Contact your state schools and email them your scores. I don't want you to feel discouraged just because it's not a 20+...the rest of your stats look great...I think the cutoff for most schools is a 16.

My friend graduated from the dental school in San Antonio and they have made the comment on a few occasions that they feel like with 3 schools in the state and decent size classes for each that a Texas resident with a decent GPA and DAT should have no problem getting an offer from AT LEAST one of them (small disclaimer...pretty sure they graduated #1 in their dental class so their idea and our idea of a "decent" GPA and DAT may differ lol)
