DAT done! need some advice..

Hi everyone!

So, I took the DAT today and want to seek some advice on selecting schools to apply..

My scores are

PAT 23
QR 18
RC 16 (I'm most worried about this...)
BIO 27
GC 22
OC 22
TS 23
AA 21

A little background of me..

I have 3.96 sGPA, 3.96 oGPA.
I have done volunteer work over 1000 hours, shadowing a general dentist for 120 hrs, and also I'm currently doing an independent research which I and my professor plan to published next year, and mission trip...etc.
My personal statement is strong according to many people who reviewed it and also all my letters are strong.
I went to a state school for undergraduate.

So far, I submitted my application to UPenn, U of Pitts, and Buffalo.

And I'm considering applying to

BU
Tufts
U of Maryland
UDM
U of Michigan
NYU
Temple


I think my low RC score is going to hold me back from getting interviews...
Is there a school that I need to take off from my list? or add to my list?
I heard Tufts have RC cut off 17..

Any advice would be appreciated!!

Btw, my RC passages were about optic fiber, prion, and generic engineering. Those were super hard.. 🙁(
I've got all above 20 in top score practice test and never got below 19 in bootcamp.. That test was HARD...

I read the passage first until I reached the 4th or 5th paragraph and then started answering the questions. Then read the passage again answering at the same time. Also as I was reading I wrote some keywords down for each paragraph.. This method usually works better for me than Search and Destroy. But I was running out of time so I switched to S&D for the last 10 questions..

I was panicking after the science section thinking that I screw up.. So that might have affected me as well 🙁

The prion passage was so ridiculous. I had 10 same format questions in a row where a situation was given and I had to see if that was validated with the postulate... It had only seven paragraphs but the questions really threw me off... I never saw a question like that before. And I had a lot of statement/reason questions too.. 🙁

There is this one guy somewhere in this forum who scored a 16 on reading as well, but had a TS 25 and AA 23-34.

He retook his DAT, and scored much better on his reading. His sciences didn't go down as well, but only you will know your capability. I would call the schools that you were interested in.

Do you remember he retook it because he didn't get any interviews or any acceptances? or did he just took it before hearing anything from the school..
I know it would be hard for you to remember his situation but retaking the DAT just makes me so frustrated 🙁 (of course, I'm going to face it if I had to.. but want to avoid it... sigh)

One of my friend got accepted with 16 RC (AA21, retook) last cycle... You still have great chance with your impressive GPAs and good sciences score.

What a relief! I was looking at last cycle's interview thread and freaking out because no one had 16 RC..
Can you tell me which school your friend got accepted to?

The guy took it before he had any interviews. He should be applying this cycle. Just saw your GPA, and I think it should be okay.
