Done with DAT today, pretty bad
PAT 16
QR 18
RC 19
BIo 16
GC 19
OC 16
TS 17
AA 18

My 1st time taking the DAT, I was so nervous and did not answer 4 Q on Natural Science, 3 Q on RC.

Bio: 😕 guess nearly 70%

GC: It's ok for me

OC: did not have time to review this part

PAT: bad time manage, I had 13 Q left with < 50s

RC: English is not my first language, this one is the terrible part for me. I had 1st Brain, 2nd DNA, 3rd Ca. I was so nervous on 1st, guess 8/17. But on the 2nd and 3rd, I just do "search and destroy". Had 3 unanswered Q.

QR: the Q were easy, just not enough time to do everything, had 6 left with < 40s

Could not complain since I had 2 weeks to study with 1-2 H/day.
The only material I use is Kaplan book 2 yrs ago.

I was so busy with lab everyday. Had 1 year exp doing research.
500+ h working in dental clinic.
Science GPA: 3.83
Non-science GPA: 3.87
Senior yr in Biochem major.
Do I have any change this year? I want a seat really bad. 🙁
I scare of retake it 😳

I am sure you will get much better chance to get in if you retake. Retake it in 3 months and send your score to top 10 schools. Good luck.

I think that you should join me in December on a retake. I will cheer you on!:xf:

did you use any practice material before you went in?
what were you scoring on topscore, acheiver and other resources?
you've got a very strong gpa, take your time study for the next sitting and i am sure you'll be able to come out on top.
good luck

🙁 Sorry about that, I took on the same day and have to retake also! We're on the same boat my friend! 😀 WEll, I got a 17AA 🙁 and I needed an 18AA...hey! you wanna trade? 😀 LOL jk. Good luck you can do it!

Retaking in Dec is sort of risky.

Have you already applied to schools?

it amazes me how schools (or applicants) inflate their GPAs, a person with a 3.9 GPA as a biochemistry major should not be getting those scores for any reason...all i got to say is thank GOD for the DAT

I used to think that too, then I thought it through a little. You have a case since there are 16s in there, but if the 16s were 17s I could defend him.

When your GPA is so high, you don't feel as much pressure to totally dominate the DAT, so you don't study as hard and may end up with 18s and 19s, which are actually very respectable scores.

WHen your GPA is very low, say 3.0, you may feel that the DAT is your last hope and study your butt off, and then end up with a 23AA.

Taking many practice tests prior to taking DAT is vital.
since I fail the 1st one...I'll keep it in mind for the 2nd time...thx
Look back on some question from the kapland and around source....I realize there are a lot of same questions with the real DAT👍.

Couldn't have said it better myself. 👍

Thx, it's waking me up. I'll push more pressure on the 2nd time.
Since my GPA is above average with major in biochem, that made me laid back on studying for DAT. That's my fault. 🙂
I applied only 3 schools. Hope I got an interview. That's all I need. I'll be well prepared next cycle If I do not get in this year.
