DAT done on 5/29/09

Here is my breakdown of each section:

PAT: I used CDP. I used to get around 23~24 on practice tests.
I was not really happy about the 22. But oh well.. it's not bad

BIO: I thought this section was kind of different from what I expected. There were some application problems. My biology background helped me. Some questions very similar to Destroyer. I used Kaplan, Destroyer, Cliffs, and made a lot of flash cards and memorized them.

GC: Wow. I don't know what happened here. I used to get around 19~20 on Topscore. This section was very easy. Destoryer helped me a lot. I went through the Destoryer 3 times fully (all science sections).

OC: I thought this section was also easy except for a few confusing ones. Again, Destroyer is the bomb. This is a must! Don't be discouraged by your performance on Destroyer on your first trial. I initially got pretty much all of them wrong. 🙂

RC: I was very unhappy with this section. I knew I wasn't good at RC, but I wasn't expecting a 17. I used to get 18~20 on practice tests. I didn't really prepare much for this section. How could you?

QR: There were some hard questions. I didn't really prepare for this section either. I'm just naturally good at math. That's all I used. Here is a tip: skip anything that seems kind of hard. A lot of people run out of time and end up choosing random answers on the last 10 problems. At least answer the easy ones correctly, since they weigh the same as the difficult ones.

Overall, I am very satisfied with my DAT score. I wish I did better on PAT and RC, but well.. it's over.

First 2 years GPA: 3.28
Last 2 years GPA: 3.72
(I transfered to a new school after my sophomore year)
All together it's about 3.5

My EC isn't that great. It's about the average. Nothing fantastic.
My GPA is alright, not so great.
I'm happy with my DAT score.

I wish I could go to either BU or Tufts.
Would I be ok???

Congrats on a fantastic score! I think you are good to go for Tufts or BU - Apply to more schools jus to be on the safe side 👍

I think you have a good chance of getting into Tufts and BU. I just took mine couple days before, and my score is very similar to yours. I got AA22/RC17 as well. My percentile for RC was 25.6% so I was worried, but most people told me that it won't be a problem unless the school has a cutoff. Was your percentile around 25% also? Apply about 10 schools is what everybody says. Good luck.

Grats buddy, I don't see why your choice schools will reject you with your stats; don't worry at all. I also like your attitude. Also, that advice for QR - skip the hard ones to return later - is gold. I have my DAT's in 3 days. Like you I used Destroyer alot even though I hated it at first. It's great to hear that it helped! Good luck with the rest of this nail-biting application process.👍

My RC percentile was 35% 🙁
Here's my Topscore results: (Test1 and 2)

BI 18, 19
GC 17, 19
OC 19, 19
PAT -, 22
QR - , 19
RC - , 19
AA - , 19
TS - , 19

These were taken about 2~3 weeks before the actual DAT.
I don't have my results for the Test3, which I took about a week before the test.
I think it was about the same as Test1 and 2 except for my 25 orgo.

My Kaplan full-tests were about the same.

Basically, most of them went up excpet for RC.
