So i took my dat on the 29th of aug so it has been a bit but here are my scores and let me know what you think.
QR: 14
RC: 16 (Dumb piano!!)
OChem: 18
Gchem: 19
Bio: 22
PAT: 19
TS: 19
AA: 18
i applied to case, indiana, pitt, nova, marquette, temple.
My GPA is low i have a 3.0 science and a 3.4 over all. Not sure how things will go. i really don't want to retake if i don't have to.
My breakdown:
Bio: i thought it was really easy. I used kaplan, destroyer, high yield bio and audio osmosis. i think the audio osmosis helped a lot. i would listen to it when i was tired of reading books or looking at a computer it was also nice to listen to while i was driving. the high yield bio book was great too it was very condensed so it helped save my time.
Ochem: I have never been very strong at ochem. i didn't even make i through the first 20 questions of destroyer. i did memorize all the road maps though and they helped a bit. I had a couple of HNMR and IR questions and they hurt my score pretty badly. I used kaplan destroyer and high yield for ochem (super cheep like $12)... also the audio osmosis.
Gchem: felt pretty good about this section too. I wish i would have looked over the pH indicators though. don't really remember too much of this section i think i had 3 problems where i had to set up problem but didn't have to solve for more than 2 questions. again i used destroyer (not a lot of help) kaplan, audio osmosis ( i think this section was one of the better ones put out by jon and jordon) and high yield for gchem ( $2 off amazon).
** i though the sciences were easy (but i guess my scores didn't show it too much) i finished early went back through it all again and still had 25 min left so i just went on to the pat.
PAT: i used crack dat pat (very good) i thought i would have done a lot better on the dat i was averaging 22 on cdp. so i am kinda disappointed on this section. everything was pretty spot on with cdp. i also finished this section about 15 min early.
RC: the dumb piano passage!!! i used search and (got) destroy(ed) method. i feel like if i would have gotten another passage i would have done just fine though.
QR: i was always really bad at math i never got about a 18 in my practice tests so i wasn't expecting much but i was hoping for better then a 14. oh well i guess we will see what happens.
Well there is my breakdown. if i had to do it again i would buy....
The High Yield books: i thought they gave the most bang for the buck.
Crack Dat Pat: very good and best way to practice i had the 10 test version.
Kaplan books: to get a good base
if i had extra money i would get destroyer but it is not nearly as helpful as all the "people/advertisers" on here make it sound.
Let me know what you think. thanks SDN!!!!!
