I just finished taking my DAT and am very happy with the scores I received. Here they are along with my study material.
Bio: 22, 1) Destroyer, 2) Cliffs AP Bio
Chem: 24, 1) Destroyer, 2) My Textbook
Orgo: 23, 1) Destroyer, 2) My Textbook (Wade)

I completely contribute my success in the sciences to the Destroyer. I went through it a number of times, and when I took the DAT I felt like the all the questions on it were covered in the Destroyer only easier on the real thing! Just one heads up, the destroyer is very challenging. Be sure to have your old textbooks around for your first go around with the destroyer so you can look up concepts that may have diffused out of your brain throughout college (in my case, pretty much everything). It is a lot of work and very time consuming but the payoff is defiantly worth it!

RC: 20, 1) Topscore and Achiever 2) Kaplan (didn’t like Kaplan)
PAT: 1) Crack DAT PAT 2) Topscore 3) Achiever (didn’t like Acheiver)
MATH: 1) Destroyer MATH

For Reading Comprehension I recommend finding a method that works for you, (in my case seek and destroy) and doing all the practice tests included in Topscore and Achiever. I know many people here don’t like achiever (and I don’t blame them) But I think it’s worth the money just for the reading Comp sections. They were structured just like the DAT. If you’re just beginning RC, and want to experiment with methods use Kaplan, there RC is not very good so you won’t waste the valuable Topscore and Achiever ones until your ready. For PAT I liked CDP, much harder than the real thing, but a very good way to practice. Topscores PAT was a bit sloppy, but still useful. Achiever is the hardest. Only use it if you’re an expert or if you won’t let its score get in your head! Math was my weakest section. I only began studying for it at the very end, and that was a huge mistake. THE MATH SECTION IS VERY HARD. Despite my low score I still recommend the math destroyer. When I was taking the DAT I felt like I was taking a Math destroyer test, only the best I ever did on a MD test was 20 right with guessing!!! It pretty accurately predicted the crappy 15 on the real thing. Overall I thought the questions in the MD were similar to the real thing and the explanations were really clear. Just start early with it especially if you’re not good in math.

Well that’s my story, overall I’m happy with my score and am NOT retaking the DAT J!!

I don't see why it is even an issue. It is easily the best DAT material, do you disagree?

I know I would have died on the Ochem on the DAT if it werent for Destroyer.

Amazing book, I am in love with it. 😀

I would have got a much better score on the PCAT when I was considering Pharmacy, if I had Destroyer.

nice job! sorry about the math section. Was it the difficulty of the questions, or the amount of time that was the problem?

The word is already out that Destroyer is great. It is common sense that spamming the boards will negatively affect their reputation.

They are selling plenty of copies without any "Spamming".

I think a lot of people are just very satisfied customers like my self.

Try taking the Dat without destroyer, especially if you haven't had a great O-chem experience in college.

I have Destroyer and also like it. That is not the issue. The issue is how often someone posts their FIRST post praising Destroyer. That breakdown was basically advertising for Destroyer the whole time! Read it! If someone from Destroyer is creating accounts to try to advertise (which I believe this is the case...bc i see it a lot), that is pretty low and unprofessional IMO. You are already charging $150!...for a paperback spiral book! I am sure you are bringing in a crapload of money. Leave it be.

I too have heard great things about Destroyer. However, I didn't have the money to use it. And since you can't purchase it at book stores, the buy-then-return-later method didn't apply....therefore I didn't use it lol

You are selling your self short, plus you can always resell it in the ads on this site.

They tutor, and they have also given discounts too disadvantaged students, I think these students are trying to repay them by advertising, not realizing they are doing more harm than good.

Destroyer rocks and I am not worried about saying it. It really is great. I should stop saying this, it would benefit me if less students have it.

Yea that's fine for you to say you love it! You also have 135 posts and I can see that you have established yourself on SDN. There would then be no ulterior motive on your part. But when people have their first posts gloating about how magnificent Destroyer is, that raises eyebrows. Come on! Am I the only one who sees this!?!

The most annoying thing about the PCAT is that it has a random mix of both Gen and Orgo. It is totallly random.

It is easier than the DAT, but it is most certainly not a joke.

Well, it appears the thread has headed in the direction of people voicing their opinions of destroyer. In that case, I thought destroyer was not worth the time it took me to review it or the money. The science questions I got were almost all significantly easier than destroyer and I'm confident I wouldn't have scored any differently had I not reviewed it. Am I saying destroyer sucks? No. IMO, it just wasn't worth it. In terms of offering additional practice questions to students who lack confidence in their studying preparation, I can see how it could provide this. It's just a bit absurd when you see posts where people are like "zOMg my dat was practically made up of destroyer questions! so cRAZY!" Please...you'll see several questions on your whole science section that are even in the same category of difficulty as destroyer questions.

What did you score? I made that assumption because you said that you "heard" that it doesnt have ochem on it.

i think it was like just about avg score around 80?.. not the greatest.. but their Ochem section was def. not as in depth as the DAT...

Congrats on the great score. It seems like the destroyer was very helpful. Would you suggest timing yourself, when going through a select number of questions when using the destroyer.

If you read the OP's entire post, the focus isn't only on praising Destroyer. Topscore, Kaplan, Crack are all mentioned.

I hope this thread turns back to commenting on what study materials are best for which sections. Bashing Romano on this thread is not productive.
