Thank you to those that answered my PMs. This forum was so helpful and very kind to me. Although I didn't do well on PAT, RC, and QR, I am satisfied with my science scores because I seriously didn't feel ready. I was so nervous. I was praying to God for a "good version" and that I will at least hit a 19 mark with my sciences. I believe I got lucky with a good version - I didn't get frapped or anything like that. RC was killing me, perhaps it's because English is my 2nd language.

Here are my scores.

PAT - 17 (after all that CRACK DAT PAT???) 😕
QR - 15 (hahahahaha 😱 )
RC - 20 (only 66.2%...wdhell???)
BIO - 23 (97.6)
GCHEM - 21 (86.2)
OCHEM - 24 (94.4)

TOTAL SCIENCE 22 (95.3%)
AA 21 (91%)

This is my first time taking DAT. I studied about 6 months, started digging into the material not until last month. I didn't study for QR because I was concentrating on my sciences - my mistake. I became so tired towards end of the test, I was literally pulling my hair out. I thought I was going to faint so I ended up just guessing "C"s for QR. :scared: DO NOT DO THIS. I haven't taken math in 5 years so I was praying that I would at least get a 16.

As for PAT, I don't know what happened, I thought I was doing pretty well. I would say it's VERY comparable to CRACK DAT PAT. Angles were easier than DAT PAT on my version. It's weird, I seriously thought all the PAT sections were easier than CRACK...but my PAT score doesn't portray that, does it now? 😕 Oh wells.

Let's skip to sections that I did "okay" on:

OVERALL:

  • Here are the test materials that I've used - Destroyer, Cliff AP Bio., Topscore, Achiever, CRACK DAT PAT, Kaplan online course, Kaplan book, MCAT Examcrackers and bunch of other textbooks and class notes.
BIO:

  • Okay...so I just got done organizing DAT materials and I came across few identical questions from one of my textbook. Was Destroyer good? Sure, but I wouldn't say it is sufficient. I read Cliff AP Bio. 2 times and went to my textbooks whenever I didn't understand. I didn't even bother reading Bio. in kaplan book. Nothing is too detailed in DAT. I had 1 histology slide and 1 animated picture of "What would this differentiate into?" type of a question. Hmm...no lab questions. KNOW YOUR EMBRYOLOGY! Know Mitosis & Meiosis. Kidney structure, and fertilization.
CHEM:

  • I mainly used Kaplan book and Destroyer for this section. I had 50% word problems and 50% calculations. Nothing "new" came up during this section...I don't know why I didn't do better. know your oxidizing & reducing species. Know your intermolecular and intramolecular bonds. If a reaction is given, find the limiting reagent and go from there to find moles and etc. Ya know, typical stuff you see everywhere in the study guides.
OCHEM:

  • I had lots of word problems!!! Only 3-5 drawn out reactions. It seems like a lot of people just "memorize" reactions and don't actually understand certain concepts. Once again, know your Kaplan book. I did destroyer three times for Ochem and twice for Chem. Know your lab procedures. I had 2 questions on lab. Oh yeah and IR & NMR too. Man...I had about 4 of those. Not easy ones though. The ones in DESTROYER are TOO EASY.
Oh yah - I never took full tests hence I do not have scores for Achiever or Topscore. Sorry! I kept taking individual sections of the practice test and this was a bad move. I don't recommend doing this, I seriously thought I was going to faint because I needed my break. Taking vitamins daily helped along with meditation. Praying, of course too! Don't compare yourself to others around you, just do well. Do your best! I totally blew PAT & QR sections but hey - nobody is perfect. 🙂 If you have any questions, let me know.

I AM FINALLY FREE!!!!!! NO MORE DAT!!!!! 😍😍😍😍 PRAISE THE LORD!!!!

I JUST got home from taking the test. I am very relieved right now...all that studying partially paid off. Even though I didn't rock every sections as I would've liked, I am very thankful to the Lord that he walked me through this experience.

Biology & Gchem & Ochem:

  • I used following materials - AP Cliff, DAT Destroyer, Achiever, Topscore, Kaplan online tests, MCAT exam crackers, Kaplan book, class notes, and 3-4 different text books.
  • I can't really say what the "best material" is because honestly, everything I read truly helped. I read everything I could get my hands on. EVERYTHING.
  • Kaplan book was good for Gchem & Ochem.
I'll post more review later...I am hungray!!!!

lol I'll be in the same position as you, barely pulling a 15 in QR.

Can you post your achiever/topscore scores plz? I want to compare how your score increased

Hey yakuza? you haven't taken it yet? I think Ive seen you here all this summer..if it's soon, gl!!!

oh btw, r u japanese??

dang, i can't sleep. i am so used to staying up until 4AM ...

so after some thinking, i am getting worried about my low QR and PAT scores...should i be concerned & re-take? :scared:

No quit obsessing about the QR which is insignifigant if you break 15/16. Dont sweat it.

my first choice is UW.

man, i don't think i am going to re-take. i am sure i could raise my QR & PAT scores but don't think i can do the same for sciences. we'll c how things go..

After my DAT I couldnt sleep normally for a while ... I still had that pre-test nervous/anxious feeling. It takes a while but it will pass ... congrats. I think you will be fine, some school however do have a minimum score policy but others look past lower QR and PAT. well done and congrats ... best of luck to you!
