Apply to your state school and few around your state and see what happens. In the mean time, start studying and take it after 90 days from today.

I would have to agree with Teddy.
In 90 days you could retake and November is not too late to get into your state schools, or even some private ones if you do really well.
Goodluck.

.....despite what most people on this website say, or get on their DAT's your score has a fair chance of getting you into a decent school. Most of my friends are in dental school and they scored about the same as you, some even less, but most 18 exactly (texas schools at least)... and theyre all in their first year. I would say dont worry about it and apply, however if your REALLY upset about (are a perfectionist) then retake. your gpa is pretty good too. with good LOR, and all that other jazz they like i think ur fine.

BY THE WAY, do you mind showing ur break down of practice testss before going in?

thanks guys. I live in MA and there is no state schools here. From your replies I assume getting into state schools is slightly easire than private ones . I would just take a shot at it and apply to some state schools in northeast or midwest. I just don't know how many schools I should apply right now.

studyy, I don't recall my exact breakdown of topscre practice tests but they were in 16's and 17's. I used CDP and it was in like 17 or 18 range.I don't know if I should have done more practice tests with achiever or destroyer though

18/17 is about average and a 3.6 is a little above. I'd say with some good loe's and a solid personal statement you have a pretty decent shot at getting in somewhere. Check predents or the official acceptance reports to see which schools are more likely to accept scores in that range. Apply smart and I'd say you have a good shot. If you think you can do better in 3 months, set up a retake and put that on your app as well. If not, I still wouldn't sweat it too much.

plus, since you don't have a state school, you should be able to get some finacial help in paying for an out of state school... so even ones where the cost of living will be higher (but are easier to gain acceptance to), I'd say you're in better shape than people with similar scores who do have state schools. I don't know the exact name of the program that does it, but ask around and someone will know.
