Hi,
I took my DAT about a week and a half ago but I was not able
to post up the scores due to laziness.

Here are the scores:

BIO: 21
G. CHEM: 21
O. CHEM: 23
PAT: 20 👎
RC: 20
QR: 29
TS: 22
AA: 23 (98% percentile) 😍

I am just happy I was able to get every section above 20 and
acing the QR with good AA.

BIO: This section was the section I spent the most time but I still sucked coming in to the test. For some reason, I suck at logical thinking...
It showed in the practice test scores from TopScore. I hate this section... so broad... I was expecting 17 on the test... I used Cliff's AP.

G. CHEM: I hate this section as well... I just hate the sciences overall...
I was expecting 18 on the test...I used KAPLAN BOOK.

O. CHEM: My Favorite science section? I was expecting at least 23 on the test though. I also used KAPLAN BOOK for this.

PAT: I don't care what others say but the real PAT was definately way harder than CDP. I was constantly getting over 23's on the CDP.
It was a walk in the park for me and the section I looked forward to the most. Every section was harder except for angles.
Angles was the section I usually got 10~12/15 on the CDP and every other sections almost 15/15. However, the angles was the easiest section on the real PAT.. -_-;;There were impossible? folds on the hole punch. I hate PAT now... Good Luck... I would recommend doing Achiever PAT so you don't get surprised on the real PAT. Of course Achiever is a lot harder than the real PAT but the real PAT is a lot harder than CDP.

RC: Search and Destroy. I was actually expecting 23+ because I finished everything with about 7-10 minutes left. I got Visual, Croc, Fungi.
Didn't read at all. The answers are straight forward in my opinion. There were some tone questions but you could definately tell while doing S&D. I recommend only TopScore for this. No other practice tests are similar.

QR: It was freaking easy for me. I finished with 10 minutes left but I just ended cause I was tired and nervous. I don't know why people here are getting 13's, 14's 15's. The trigs are elementary. Just work hella fast. You get 2 laminated sheets so try not to waste time erasing and just use both laminated sheets front and back to save time. CDM is the closest thing. I constantly got 29-30's.

Please reply to this thread if you have any questions. I will not respond to personal messages. Thanks 🙂

WoW! You learned your math in US? 🙂

Yea,
I learned math in US,
that's why I was only scoring 17-18's the first time when I took CDM.
You don't have to be asian/indian or learn math outside US to score above 20 on this section.
You only need to get 29 questions with 45 minutes out of 40 to score 20... I'm pretty sure 29 questions were straight forward algebra or word problems that are easy to read and comprehend.
spend time wisely.

I'm a little jealous, not gunna lie, but good for you! Congrats on the solid scores! Good luck applying.

Thanks! You too! 🙂

Out of curiosity, what did you score in the math section of the SAT?

I don't remember quite well cause I took the SATs 5 years ago but I scored between 750-780 on Math Portion of SAT and in SAT II Subject test in Math.

I think SAT Math was harder than QR in DAT. 🙂

First of all, Congratulations! you did great!

Just out of curiosity, could you please tell me what books you used? for bio, did you just study from cliff? and for g.chem/o.chem is kaplan enough? did you take kaplan online/in-class course? and ppl here really recommend destroyer. did you use destroyer? It seems like you have a very solid science background, you did a great job in all of the sections.

How did you prepare for organic chem?

You did pretty awesome in math, any suggestions? i feel like i'll fail in that particular section.

How long did you study for this test? and what software did you purchase (cdp/cdm/topscore/achiever)?

thanks and good luck with the application

For Bio, I only used Cliff's AP to study and practiced using TopScore and Achiever.

For GC and OC, I used both KAPLAN BOOK and DESTROYER. If you get your hands on those two, your guaranteed 20+.
I did not take KAPLAN ONLINE/IN CLASS COURSES.
I do NOT have a solid background in sciences at all.
I slacked off in college so I basically learned everything in the two months I studied.
I didn't do that well in those classes in college either.
You don't need solid background at all. Just study the materials people recommend here at SDN. If you have a good logical thinking, you have an advantage over everyone here.
If I had a better logical thinking, I think I could have scored higher in the sciences. I am more of a straight memorization type.

For math, I used CDM and Math Destroyer. However, I think CDM is closest to the real exam than Math Destroyer. If you can constantly get above 25 in CDM, you'll get 23+ on the test day.

I used CDP, CDM, Math Destroyer, KAPLAN BOOK, TopScore, Achiever.
Those are all you need to get above 20.

Good Luck 🙂

Wow... 750-780, and no wonder you got a 29 on the QR 🙂
Still I've heard of a person with an 800 SAT math who got a 20 in QR, so you must have done something right studying for that section.

Anyhow, awesome job on the DAT, and good luck in getting into your number one school.

mind sharing your achiever scores? just for a reference for us people who are starting to freak out DAT In 3 days AHHH Homgggz0mggbbqwtf

Achiever 1:
PAT: 20
QR: 24
RC: 20
BIO: 16
GC: 16
OC:15

I don't remember the rest but they are very similar to the scores as Achiever 1.
Sciences in Achiever are way harder and nothing like the real DAT. The real exam is much simpler and straight forward.

I think I was well prepared because I bought the 25 CDM version.
I did all of them and also all 10 of Math Destroyer.
I think if you put as much time studying the math as other sections, you will definately do well.

I don't think you can correlate SAT Math Score to DAT Math Score because you can use a calculator for the SAT Math, which is a humongous advantage for people like me who carried around a calculator all times in Math classes.

lol SAT verbal has no correlation to reading comprehension whatsoever. SAT verbal you memorize definitions. reading comprehension you read and comprehend
