I hope so! I can't retake it, the emotional stress is a killer. Here are the scores:

AA 21 TS 21 PAT 18

But it doesn't look so pretty when written out:
PAT 18
QR 14 😡 😱 👎
RC 23
BIO 21
GC 19
OC 29
TS 21
AA 21

Bio was way easier than I thought it was going to be. The questions were fairly simple and straight forward with an even distribution across subjects. No hormone questions. Only one I got that I recognized was the sea urchin question.

Chem was tricker than I thought it was going to be. Gas stuff was highly represented.

Ochem was easy.

Reading was much harder than I thought it was going to be. I had calcium, aging and bacterial resistance to antibiotics. Some questions required me to know obscure vocabulary that wasn't explained in the passage (but I scanned the whole thing about 3 times looking). One word (noso-somethin infection) which means an infection spread in the hospital was required and I didn't know it so I missed that question. 👎

PAT, I didn't feel bad about this section and an 18 is about what I expected. I scored a 17 on achiever about a week ago when I took it.

Math...totally sucked for me. I blindly filled in about 10 at the end. Many answers required me to just set up the equation but that is much harder for me as I am self taught in math. I just cram the numbers together and it got me A's in genchem and physics but I can't set them up quickly in the "traditional" way.

Only test I can share is Achiever 1 a week ago: Bio 14 Ochem 19 Gchem 19 PAT 17 (didn't do math/reading). I am about to call schools and see if I am disqualified or what. If anyone knows of schools that won't cut me for the 14 please list them as I may need to adjust my application list.

Thanks for all the help! People on this form rock!

I think the math would be no problem for most of you. I pretty much stopped studying math in junior high. I have my own getto math style but nothin else.

congrats on the great scores. i had the same reading passages as you, and they SUCKED! i feel like my vision has deteriorated due to focusing on the fuzzy screen during the RC. The bacterial resistance one was nice b/c i just took microbio this summer and 3 of the questions i knew w/o reading the passage (including the nosocomial infection one 😀)

good luck, i would call up the schools and see what they say about your QR scores. i think many will overlook it b/c your a strong applicant otherwise.

jb!

wow great scores. I also had the same passages, and found them kinda interesting. 🙂

nice scores even with a low QR. btw why is the snow yellow? 😉

I used to live in Japan and it is pretty common for drunk guys to just turn to the side of the road and take a leak (I have heard this is pretty common in Europe too) leaving a yellow indentation. I guess it left an impression on me.

I REALLY want to go to my state school but they have an official cutoff of 15 in all sections even though their AA avg. is 19. Anyone ever have success getting a school to make an exception? I have sent out some e-mails so we'll see.

Glad to see that others thought those passages were tough. 23 = 92nd percentile so some of my guesses must have hit their mark. 😀 About 1/2 the questions were like kaplan/achiever/topscore where you just match terms but the others were a bit more tricky. The focus of the passages really jumped around from paragraph to paragraph making it a bit difficult to determine tone, etc.

Great scores! OMG, I can't believe you got the bacterial infections article... most likely we got the same one (and I wrote mine in Feb)... nosocomial... definitely sounds familiar... by any chance did it have a question dealing with an ironic situation??

i did 🙂 ..... i just took mine on monday

jb!

Yeah, question had you pick from reasons why X from the article was ironic. The reasons were really different from each other so it wasn't too bad but time consuming.

Wow, I think we did have the same article.

For those interested I am going to list schools that have responded to me saying they have no minimum score cutoff as this information isn't available on all school websites. So far: Columbia, Arizona, NOVA, NYU, USC allows one 14.

UoP wants 20's in all categories.
