Well Ive been holding off posting my scores bc ive been pretty bummed out. I did not do badly, but I know that I could have done a lot better in every section, even the ones that I did well on. I think that I am going to take it again in three months bc I dont think that I will get into my target schools and am not willing to undertake the massive debt that goes along with my backup schools. I just want to thank everyone on the board for all of their help. This is a great supportive community and I hope that it continues for many years to come.
Here are the scores:
Bio 23
Orgo 23
Gen Chem 19
PAT 17
QR 18
RC 16
TS 21
AA 20
Heres the breakdown:
Bio- Make sure you know the destroyer inside and out-its really on the money. But also make sure not to rely on it alone, there were definitely questions that I was forced to use my scientific knowledge( Im a Bio major) and apply it bc there were many things that you had to reason out. Use Cliffs AP BIO its really a great summery to help you review material that you have not done for years ( I took AP Bio in HS and just took advanced bios in college).
Orgo-Again really heavy on the reactions, which is my stregnth. Make sure that you know all of your rxns cold bc they were the majority of my test. Again, destroyer is really on the money here, especially those roadmaps. My suggestion-make them out yourself and then erase the products, reactants, etc and fill them in.
GC- like everyone has been saying very conceptual but I def had a couple of calculations. not sure where i went so wrong to get a 19, never really got under a 21 on a practice test. I was a really good GC student so, in fact better than orgo and bio so you could see how i was really shocked at this score. Ill assume it was careless errors although I dont really know where they were. Again, although i didnt do too well, I thought destroyer was a nice test after I had studied my material to keep me on my toes.
The rest of the exam was a bloody disaster. My biggest problem-time. I didnt pace myself well at all, I was so zoned in and determined to answer the questions that I was not focused on the time at all and found myself forced to blindly guess on around 30 or more questions between QR,RC and PAT. It was an utter disaster. I did not find anything particularly difficult-I just killed myself with the time. My advice-practice with the clock ticking and keep your marker moving fast.
Materials used-Kaplan,Topscore, Crack the PAT and Destroyer.
GPA 3.74 in a top 40 school
science GPA around 3.7
Good luck to everyone and Ill let you know how it went 3 months from now

Not too bad, don't get too down on yourself.

The RC is gonna be the biggest problem (I'm sure you know this).

You killed bio and orgo. You'll be good to go in three months. I can follow your reasoning. If I know I can do better, then I'd rather retake and possible have to push everything off for 1 more year if it means getting into one of my tops.

Good luck.
