Hi, i have been on this forum last few months and thanks to those who answered my PM and questions. Also all the information that i got from SDN really helped me out.
I was very very nervous before my DAT today. I am a canadian applicant and took American DAT for my first time.
Here are my scores
Bio: 20
GC: 20
OC: 20
PAT: 19
RC: 22
QR: 16 😱😱
AA: 20
TS: 20
BIO: random but nothing too hard. I used cliff AP and destroyer. Seriously i memorized everyhting like hormones, plants and all little details. but it was true that the exam is not really detail-oriented. Try to learn things as a big picture. I guess it is really hard to tell since bio is broad and some questions can be very specific and some not.
Chem: not much calculation. 50% conceptual q's 50% calculations. Very simple. I think if you know kaplan, you should be fine.
OC: I had no NMR/IR questions surprisingly. I thought i really did good in this section. I had some lab tech questions tho. Study destroyer and go over each questions with understanding things, not just memorizing.
know your SN1/SN2/E1/E2
PAT: i really thought i knew every single questions. I was so sure that i would get above 23+ but ...
RC: English is my second language and i didn't do much practice or anyting for this section (there is actually nothing you can really do about this) though i worried about this section the most. I only did TS for this. I am really happy with my score (No FRAP or anything hard)
MATH:
oh my......... im very disappointed. I have been really good at math.....many word problems like many people mentioned..know ur trig. I got some questions like finding an area of this and that. I had to guess on some but didnt expect that i would get below 18. I guess I shouldve practiced more. I only did destoryer for this.
My advice is study the information, all the concepts you need to learn and do practice questions. I really think DAT is that that that hard if you study. And dont get stuck in little little details in bio. If you know all the topics in bio and if you can explain that to someone briefly. I think you might be good. I memorized all those taxa, cell respiration, physiology part...got like 1-2 questions on them, and they were EASY.
I know my scores are not superb like others who got like 25 but I hope my post somewhat helps. If you have any question, feel free to ask.
school starts 2mrw for me .😎
