Hi Guys!
My name is Torrie and I took my DAT on May 15, 2012 and I must say that I am so excited to finally be done. Also, i'm finally done applying to dental school.

Here are my scores

So I am writing this post to let people who don't have super extraordinary, high off the rictor scale scores see that you can still apply to dental school and get interviews. I applied to 9 schools and I finished applying at the end of July. I have 2 interviews set up already and im still filling out supplementals. My calculated GPA's on the AADSAS is a 3.49 science and a 3.43 overall. I have a bachelors of science...Major:Biology and Minor:Chemistry
So my message to all of you is to never give up if its something that you really want! :=)

Congratulations! And thank you for giving me hope. This has been a dream of mine since my freshman year in H.S and I'm almost 29 🙁 I hope I can one day fulfill my dream of becoming a dentist. I'm taking my DAT for the second time at the end of the month and I'm so depressed and overwhelmed and mostly scared b/c I'm scoring between 18-20s on my practice exam and when I took my DAT 2 years ago I got mostly 18s and 21 on RC and I cant get 18s again, I need to do better or I will have no shot of getting in to any schools. Btw where are your two interviews at? And good luck with everything 🙂

Thanks, my 2 interviews are at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and the University of Iowa. I just received my supplemental for UAB as well. Oh and the best advice I can give you is to not panic and study to the best of your ability and you will be just fine. If you are scoring that high on your practice test you should do much better on the real test. Good Luck with everything ;=)

If your QR was a16-17 your AA would have been a 19!!! Anyways good luck to you and congrats on the interviews so far.

Keep your head up! Those are not bad scores by any means, most importantly, believe in yourself

2.) University of Iowa
3.) UAB at Birmingham
4.) GHSU
5.) Meharry
So I have 1 pre-december interview left at Meharry so im really excited about that and then it will just be a waiting game. I think all of my interviews so far went well. Im and praying to hear something on Dec. 3. This process has been really demading and expensive but i've had a lot of fun. 😀

There are some that say it's just a numbers game but I really believe that being a non-trad gives you a leg up on the competition. You stand out in the crowd! Best of luck and please do a break down so you can be included on DAT Elisse (if you haven't already) and this way when you get acceptance(s) they can be listed on there as well.

Thank you for sharing! don't worry about math! The only math that we'll probably ever have to do in dentistry is to count 1 - 32 (teeth)

Well im sorry to hear that. Unfortunately someone has to get rejected. However, you should be proud that you did atleast hear from 1 school because some people didn't even get that. So I don't think it's odd I think my PS and EC's were outstanding and I interviewed very well.
