hi everyone

my dat is in a couple days and i am freaking out because I am not doing well on the TFE questions. i have been using achiever, topscore and kaplan...i dont know what to do!!! i guess i still dont understand the whole counting the lines thing cuz it doesn't really help me get many questions right (if any lol).

ok, you should look at the lines beside counting them too. i mean for example if you have top view and front view and asking you for the side view. first count the line and at the same time look which one is solid and which one is dotted line and you should see the same pattern dotted line and dashed line and the same number on the end view. also, another important thing that usually you can find the right answer is look how wide is the line the distance between the lines are important too.there should be the same hight and distance for each view presented.

i hope that helped you. other wise i try to scan some problems with the way you should solve it and i will email to you. i unfortunetly at the moment i do not have any scanner but i try to do that for you. i know how is the feeling for not doing well on pat. i had that problem with section and finally one of teachers helped me. please let me know if i can do any thing else for you. iam taking my test on monday.

what exactly do you guys mean when you say "counting the horizontal and vertical lines"....does this include the outer lines that are lining the shape itself??...or only the inner lines of the figure?? help me plz my dat is on monday! thanks 🙂

If you haven't bought the Barrons book for the DAT, I would advise you to do so. The book sucks for reviewing the sciences, but their PAT section is good. It goes over strategies for how to tackle different problems. Some of their tips are basic, but others are pretty good. Good luck.

I took the dat yesterday, to be honest with you don't waste your time on this, the TFE questions where easier the kapland or acheiver. Looking back I would have spent more time on the reading section.
