I don't post much on this site, but it was a huge resource for preparing to take the DAT. I really don't want to do a breakdown of materials since it has been done by many in the past. I thought I would just highlight a few key points.
-Bio questions were generally very straightforward except for a few questions in which they made easy topics substantially harder. I believe for this section the more questions you see the better since wording can throw you off on a topic you believe you know.
-DAT PAT was def. harder than CDP for the keyholes. In CDP the structures are drawn nice and clean and it is easy to see the lines and angles for these keyholes. On some I was just scratching my head with what was displayed and I normally good at them.
-TFE on the DAT was also harder than CDP. On CDP I could do the questions in like 15 seconds. You could eliminate between 2 answers and then find one line that differentiates them and get the answer. On the DAT the answer choices were a whole lot more similar to one another.
-Angles were a tad bit easier
-They def like to connect cubes on corners and if you don't view the whole structure before jumping in it could make you have to recount and waste time (happened to me x2 times)
-GChem had a question that I believe had multiple answers, so I really doubt I got that right. Other than that it was simple. Rarely had to do actual calculations. Dimensional analysis is a must, but that should be a given.
-Ochem was straightforward.
-RC!!! This is what pissed me off the most. The pens that they gave me at the testing center were completely fine. This damn testing center though gave me my laminated sheets in which one side HAD A BLACK GRID TAKING UP THE WHOLE PAGE! The sheets were also pink which was weird. I complained to them at the beginning and they said it was all they had. Before that they tried to give me sheets with grids on both sides. They need to be schooled on the DAT a little better since we don't need graph paper and would so much rather had just plain. So with my 2 pages, in actuality I only had 2 sides instead of 4 to write on for the RC. I map out the passages and I was forced to write on the Graph side which made it very hard to read and go back and look for my key words. I didn't want to trade in my sheets because I skipped some questions to go back to.
IThe earphones they gave sucked and had a gap below my ear that let in noise so I would def. bring some if noise bothers you like me.
Even if you think you are doing poorly (which I thought I was when I was taking it). Don't stress out and keep powering through. Also when one section is over try not to think about the questions you were stuck on... since you can't go back which is unlike most exams most of us take regularly.
Thanks to all who posted solutions to problems that were a pain in the ass on here!
