Whew! First of all, let me thank everyone on the board for sharing your study tips, information and for your help. Especially the posts in "DAT 20 and up study tips." Here are my scores:

AA 24 99.8%
TS 24 99.8%
GC 27 100%
OC 25 99.4%
Bio 22 98.7%
QC 28 100%
RC 19 67.3%
PA 19 91.2%

I would say DAT Achiever helps a lot, similar questions showed up in the real DAT. I had the Stock passage for RC, which is similar to the one from DAT Achiever.
The only concern about my score is that both RC and PAT are 19, below 20. Will that hurn if I apply for the top dental schools? Any thoughts?
Gook luck to everyone!

I would say your scores are excellent and there is no point in taking it over to fix your RC....you easily make up for that in other areas. Good Luck

Haha, your scores make mine look like crap. Damn, some stiff competition in SDN.

i think dat achiever is posting posts like this. every week i see posts that says dat achiever has questions that will show up on the real dat. i am saying all this because of the many posts with high scores in real dat and they are noobs here.

Hmm, could be. Those scores are so wicked. People tell me my DAT scores are good, and then I go to SDN and I get trully humbled.

issa,
I am not posting for DAT Achiever, just want to share experience to help other friends here who is taking the DAT. Go check my membership history. I joined the forum one year ago. I am a pre-med student at Harvard and just took MCAT in August/05. When waiting for MCAT scores, I took DAT for fun. Actually there are a few other friends in the forum knew ahead I planned to take DAT on 09/30 downtown Boston.
In addition to DAT Achiever, I used Top Score and Kaplan Blue book and MCAT review books for DAT. They are all good review materials. While DAT Achiever gives you real DAT questions, TopScore is good for reviewing PAT. That is just my 2 cents and hope it helps.
I am still not sure whether RC & PAT of 19 would qualify for top schools like UOP, Harvard, UCLA, Columbia. I hope they do not have a RC cut off line and throw my application out. haha.. Gluck to all!

Nah, most schools accept 19s in some sections, especially since your AA is so high. I wouldn't worry about it. The only problem you have is explaining to adcoms is why you took the MCATs and the DAT during the same year. Do you know what you really want to do for a living? Medicine and dentistry are two different fields.

Take care,
Rich

congrats

i've noticed that people with high scores post them while others don't 😀

is 22 98.7% ???
I thought bio is out of 40.
and even if it's out of 30, shouldn't it be more like 70 %? becuz it's 22/30 ?

thanks everyone for comments, and Rich for your advice!
I married to a medical doctor, and it is interesting that my wife strongly encourage me to dental schools over med sch.
joonkimdds, according to DAT score report, the percentage means test takers scored lower. i.e., Bio 22, 98.7% means only 1.3% of all DAT takers scored higher or equal to 22.
Gluck to everyone, Cheers!

If you look at the score conversion table at the back of Barron. 3 wrong out of 40 questions is a 23 scaled score. I heard from other SDNers that it is pretty much on the dot on the real exam too.

Good luck on DAT prep,
Rich

Fantastic job, Eric. With your profile as a pre-med student from Harvard, you should have good chance of getting into at least one of the top dental schools of your choice. Make sure you begin role-playing yourself now in anticipation of any interview you're going to be called for.

The percentiles you got here basically pertain to a pool of candidates taking the same set of tests you got. For instance, a 19 for PAT for others may be given a percentile in the 80s while some others 95 (maybe). The dental schools will not look at them, however, the message here is that not all tests at the Prometric Center have been set at equal level of difficulties. Future takers should always be prepared for the worse and never be complacent with the strong teen scores from practice exams...
