I took the DAT this past week and I am finally free, enough said lol... I'd like to thank everyone on this forum for tips they've provided and the breakdowns. It has all been really helpful! I didn't do as well as some of the super achievers on this forum, but I'm extremely pleased with my scores!!!
Here's the breakdown! If anyone's interesting in knowing more about how I prepped for it, let me know!! =]

PAT: 22 (93.8 percentile) --> usually my weakest section... so a bit shocked lol
QR: 21 (97.6 percentile) --> didn't study much for this... oh well
RC: 23 (98.9 percentile) --> got lucky with the passages!!! 🙂
BIO: 23 (98.9 percentile) --> REALLY random questions -___-
GCHEM: 25 (99.5 percentile)
OCHEM: 28 (99.5 percentile) --> i suck at ochem. definitely shocked :meanie:
Total Science: 25 (99.9 percentile) YAY!!! 😀
Academic Average: 24 (99.9 percentile)😀

for PAT... definitely recommend crack dat pat

QR... all i worked with were the 150 problems at the end of dat destroyer. i thought i'd be okay because i'm reasonably good at math, but alas it beat me -___-

RC: did nothing for this one. i like to read and i think the practice you get from taking practice tests is enough. got lucky with the passages too. they were right up my alley =D

Bio: kaplan blue book and destroyer... the kaplan course is the most useless class i've ever had to endure. i'd still buy it though because they have a lot of practice problems online.

gchem: kaplan blue book and destroyer

ochem:kaplan blue book and destroyer

ONE LAST THING: I was suppose to take this test 6 weeks ago, but I felt I wasn't ready for it then. So to those who want to reschedule their test, DO IT. It was the best decision I ever made, but really hard to make! When you're ready for it, you'll know it because you'll be able to go into it with confidence!

Good luck to everyone applying this cycle!!! =]

DANG! Someone was in your corner today- and you did GREAT!!!! You make it sound so easy....ha....

Did you take any practice tests? Would you mind posting your scores or giving insight about what you thought about the Kaplan practice tests, destroyer, etc???

I am jealous.

didn't do as well as some of the super achievers.....you do realize that with those scores and percentiles, you're one of them, right...lol. Congrats on the amazing scores!!!

No you didn't do as well. 99.9 percentile makes you a below average applicant... 😛

Congrats on the score!

My jaw dropped! Amazing!! Huge Congratulations!!!🙂🙂

well I've seen posts where people got like 28s on the perceptual and QR section and well I'm not up there lol, but i'm absolutely happy with my PAT score... I had such a tough time with that section.

BerrF12: I also took the 2007 and 2009 tests that ADA released, in addition to achiever tests. I'll post the scores for all of them later. As a warning... Achiever really demoralizes you... I think I did 4-10 points better on the real thing.

Kaplan practice tests are alright. Their PAT is way too easy, but their gchem and ochem questions are sort of like the real thing. It's good practice when you first start studying.

Destroyer is way too hard, but it's good practice... the real thing is so much easier.

2007 test is too easy. I wrote my scores down on a random sheet of paper so I don't know my exact scores, but I now I averaged 23 for the sciences and QR, 21 for the PAT, and 22 for reading comp.

2009 test is very similar to the real thing. However, the math section for that test is way too hard.

Achiever... one word... DIFFICULT. I don't recommend taking those tests unless you can deal with demoralizing scores. I took the first two tests and 1/2 of the third one.
Achiever scores:
PAT/QR/RC/Bio/Gchem/Ochem/TS
Test1:16/22/17/18/20/19/19 --> their PAT is wayyyy too hard... =/
Test2:18/18/18/18/17/17/17
Test3:-/-/17/20/19/19

One thing I did notice is that the bio section on the real DAT is incredibly unpredictable. I don't think any of the tests I took really modeled it well.

Thanks! I have done the science section of Achiever 2/3 so far and I am just using it as a learning tool and trying not to take the scores to heart. Some problems aren't so bad and then others are just absolutely ridiculous.

What did you think about Achiever QR? I am a little nervous to try one of those...

Achiever QR is alright. I did really well on the first one and really bad on the second one. It's definitely harder than the real thing. Some of their stats questions are a bit ridiculous and I didn't see anything even remotely close to those on the real thing.

What a DAT stud.

This is what I call a Silent Gladiator... quiet on the board, hidden in the bushes, very few postings, then strikes to kill, and then rides off in the sunset with a closing thread.

Thanks guys! LetsGo2DSchool, your comment cracked me up lol, but just to clarify it's studette 😀

SO is it true that if you miss 2-3 ,(5-6 in Bio) questions in each section you are automatically down to 19-20 ? I just wana double check cuz this sounds abit wrong to me. If the nation's average is 18, that means an average student who takes the DAT answer 30/40 right on bio and 24-25/30 right on Chem !!!!!

that sounds about right. from what i know, for a 20 you have to score 34/40 on bio, 26/30 on gchem, and 25/30 on ochem. for the total science score, you get a 20 if you're between 81 and 85. hope this clears things up a bit!

Holy God. The real thing better be easier than Achiever cuz i have been getting solid 10 wrong in Bio. I missed 7 bio questions on topscore TOO!!!

It is easier than achiever, but not all of the questions require regurgitating material. I had quite a few experimental questions on my test, so be prepared to handle those as well.
