Its over! I have been waiting for this moment for the last month. I studied around 8 hours a day for about a month or so.
The Exam:
RC: F***** HARD!! i was getting 22's on CDR and 20s on Topscore. I really didn't get lucky 😀. I couldnt focus for some reason. The passages were very dense, and intense and it was kind of hard to do search and destroy. Plus my mouse wouldn't let me scroll lol. they were 18 to 20 paragraphs long. It was pretty hard i have to admit.
Bio: Also kind of hard. I was surprised, there were some WTH questions that i was like: okay are you serious!! PS: I am extremely proud of this score. I haven't taken any bio classes outside of BIo 1 and 2 and in reality thats all you need, but i didn't learn anything while going through bio 2. I didn't know what was the function of the liver was before i started studying. I learned every single system, everything phylum, everything in the chair of my desk. It was some mad studying. This section in my opinion was the hardest of the test. I was pissed that i didnt get any plant questions. I learned every little thing about plants 😡😡 . also: GENETICS there were probably 5 to 6 questions on genetics! I felt i was taking a genetics test. Mendel was present lol i love his inexpensive pea plants lol
GC: Wasnt bad at all. Dont really know what i got wrong, i thought i had a 30 😕 I even caught little tricks in which they were trying to get me/us. CHads and Destroyer pretty much all the way.
Oc: Same as gc, i do not know what i got wrong on this section. There were NMR questions and chair conf. ALso just know this reagent that i had trouble remembering. n-CMPA or d-CMPA something like that. This was like a six step reaction and that was the first reagent. I think it adds hydroxyls in an anti position to an alkene but wasn't sure. I just did destroyer for this section, didnt watch chads.
QR: I got a little nervous and for some reason i saw myself doing 2 times 2 in the calculator one time and slapped myself hard. Simple, but annoying not a fan of that type of math. I like the hard stuff lol. I dont really care when ally is 6 years older than mathew how old is mathew.... and blah blah is so dumb but w.e. I seriously did this section like blah. I was tired.
PAT: Really Easy. I was shocked that i didnt score higher. I think there was something wrong with the system lol
it was simple. But i guess those key holes that you think they fit but in reality they don't because they don't lol were and issue. I am happy with the score. I only used CDP . Score anywhere form 21 to 25 and in achiever ave 21. Achiever is harder but to tell you the truth they manage to make it look just like the test. In other words, achiever PAT in my opinion is a must. Is the most similar training PAT aid that i ran into. CDP angles are too hard. THey weren't that bad on the real DAT.
I am happy with my scores. DO NOT LET THIS FORUM BRING YOU DOWN. My scores are average and not everyone gets 25 and 26 as they put it on here. Look at the percentages. Is probably the biggest indication of your success. Also, sometimes numbers are just numbers.
What matter is your effort and your willingness for that final goal. What i mean is that if you try your best, and you are conscious about it, any score you get has to make you happy because you gave it your all. Is not a hard test, but requires dedication, and a lot of it. It requires you to do things others are not willing to do. I lost friends and a lot of opportunities to have fun. I lost my hair!! lmao got skinny ( was strong lol) and guess what, i wouldn't trade a thing for my smile after obtaining those average scores. For me it was the best i could have done and am happy with it.
I have to thank this forums for all the inspirations. All of us make a difference by helping each other out.
Also, i thank this country. I am hispanic and my parents gave everything they had to bring me here. I wouldnt be able to be successful without the opportunities this place is given me and has given me. Keep that in the back of your head. Don't waste your time, and find a purpose to bust you ass and be happy about your scores.
I have a 3.65 overall and 3.76 sc 3.9 bcp. I am debating weather i apply this year since i am not sure if i will be able to graduate before fall of next year. But i guess i can try with schools that don't require bachelors. For example NOVA which conveniently is 10 mins away lol. They don't require a bachelors, and i have A;s in all the classes they require so i think i will give it a shot. what do you think? do i have a chance with schools that don't require a bachelors? ill probably be 4 credits away 🙁
Any feedback and any questions are more than welcome. You can do it i did it. I am a regular person just like you reading this. Good luck in your studies and on your dreams!
