I'm really worried about my QR and Biology scores. I'm a 3rd year and going to apply 2010-2011. I pretty much want to go anymore but mostly UCLA or UCSF and is wondering if those two scores are going to limit my chances at most schools? I'm still working on my GPA and extra-curriculars. Thanks for the feedback! If you have a question you can personal message me. 🙂

I used Kaplan DAT, Crack DAT PAT, DAT Achiever, Topscore Pro, and DAT Destroyer.

I don't think that the 17's are going to have too much of an influence on you getting interviews.

Thanks for the feedback DaveyK. I'm more worried about Biology since it is a very important subject. For those of you that have yet to take the test I advise getting a solid foundation in the basics of biology and doing Achiever, Topscore, and especially Destroyer to tackle those more complicated/random problems. There were quite a few in the Biology section that I had to make an educated guess. There were also quite a few that were found in Destroyer! So don't underestimate the extent of the Biology content.

Could you give advice for the chemistry sections? What do u feel helped u the most for these sections? Thanks.

Insane PAT and RC.

Bio isn't too pretty, but you don't seem like you have 1 school in mind so you will def be fine getting into multiple schools as long as you have a dec gpa.

I thought General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry were very similar to Topscore and Destroyer. General Chemistry was a little bit more difficult because there were some question formats that I had never seen in either resource and I just used my knowledge of the subject to answer the questions. Both are very doable and I think Destroyer is the best material to practice working the problems. Organic Chemistry was pretty much word for word from Destroyer.

I'm from California so I guess I would like to go to anywhere in California. I'm open to other state's schools, I'll just have to learn more about them.

The biology section was half easy and half hard. I don't think I studied thoroughly. All the questions I have seen in one form or another but the hard questions I did not grasp a thorough understanding of it. I wish I could tell you guys the questions so you understand how I felt. But my feelings on this section is just that it covers many topics and subtopics that in a sense it is very specific. For me, I only studied the very basics of biology but did not go too much in depth with all the topics. I don't think I tried my very best. It was just too much material.

I did half of the Biology questions in Destroyer and I did not do a thorough check of my answers. I just underestimated the Biology section.

Just my $0.02.

I might would worry a little if you are a biology major ... but not as much if you are a chem or other major. If you have a >/= 3.5 GPA this also negates the biology score (also As in undergrad biol classes).

Overall your scores are very impressive to me. Just might have to answer why biol was one of worst sections on DAT if you are a biol major.

I think the overall package matters... so you have great DAT scores... keep the GPA up, learn more about the profession through shadowing, and I think you're golden.

17 Bio looks terrrible, especially as a bio major. I'd plan a retake if I were you.

Thanks for the feedback guys. From what I gather, I think schools will question the Biology score but hopefully it won't limit me to most schools. I only took Ecology/Evolution and Genetics courses before I took my test. The last time I actually took a Biology course was in high school. Maybe that was a major disadvantage? I'm not going to retake because I have other things to focus on to strengthen my resume. If that score is going to affect my admissions then so be it.

Hey! I was wandering what method you used for the RC? or What resources did u use? Thanks!

I need a napkin for looking at the PAT and RC scores, I don't want my co-workers to be staring at the wet spot on my shirt.😉

For Reading Comprehension I only used DAT Achiever, Topscore Pro, and Kaplan DAT. My method was just doing it question by question. I never studied for this section except when I took my full length practice tests. I think I got an easy version of the test.

Yeah,, 21 is such a terrible AA.....and 17 is way below any cutoffs for most schools.....

DO NOT retake this test. I promise you are fine.

Great scores. You will be fine as long as your GPA is good. Everyone sucks in QR, Bio is a good enough score and with the others you will have your pick of acceptances I would bet.

Just out of curiousity, what's your major?

Wow, old post! Couture which schools did you end up getting accepted at?
