DAT for international dentist

I don think any Foreign-trained dentist has taken DAT yet. The only school which has declared DAT as an application requirement for NEXT Application Cycle is NYU. If schools other than NYU do not make DAT a requirement, so it means you are going through this exam just for application to NYU.
DAT is new to foreign-trained dentist, if you need more information you should search in DAT forum.

Hey Passiondent,
Just a suggestion. If I were you, I started studying NBDE Part 2 instead of taking time for DAT. The only school which has announced DAT as a requirement for next year is NYU. By taking NBDE2 you will have more options, like VCU, New Jersy, Loma Linda,...which need both NBDE 1,2!
It is my personal opinion that taking time for DAT is wasting time! Anyway I wish you best of luck!

I agree with you, but; put in consideration that NY take about 125 applicant every year, so the competition will decrease in NY and increase in the others...

i have heard that so far new york is sure about considering DAT..other universities are also planning either for DAT or GRE..the exact situation will be clear once every univ updates its requirements for the new session..

The requirement of DAT is on the website for NYU but the addmission officer told us that its still not final. The dean of NYUCD wanted it to be on the website so they had to put it but they are holding a national meeting (maybe with other dental schools) in march and the fibal decision would be taken after that ! So there is still hope tht we wont have to take DAT !
( i was thr on for the interview some days back and this info was given to us in the question/ answer session with the addmission officer .So there might be other ppl who will confirm this !)

Yes, very much right.I confirm this.They will take decision somewhere in march and addmission officer said that they will also consider what other schools decide.

ohhhhh.....i parentally started studyin for DAT already. it seems to be manageable. BUt yeah lets see.......i hope they just don't consider GPA ONLY,,, cuz mine is only 3.1...
and does anyone knows that what abt student who has gotten a score for part-1 and part-2...already? are their score gonna appear in a marksheet of NBDE or now onwards it's just gonna be fail and pass for them as well ? let me know if anyone got any clue about this please..thank you...
