Hey all, here is one question from the sample test I got wrong but couldn't figure out why:

The electronic configuration of a
particular neutral atom is
1s22s22p63s23p2. What is the number of
unpaired electrons in this atom?
A. 1
B. 2
C. 3
D. 4
E. 0

The answer is supposed to be C according to the solutions bank, but I can't figure out why it isn't B. The way I see, this is just the configuration of a Silicon atom with 2 valence electrons, both unpaired.

Thanks for any help you can provide,

A.
