Hey, I was wondering if Barron's quantitative reasoning portion is analogous with the actual DAT. Also, I would like to know if anyone who took the kaplan course could comment on how the final DAT examination compares to the real DAT. -- Thanks a bunch

hi croco,

i took the Kaplan course and i thougth that the qr portion of the Kaplan was very hard. some practice test were very easy while others were way too difficult.

when i took the DAT, i think that it was way easier than what the Kaplan course wants you to learn. i don't think that you should see it as comprable to kaplan or not, as you never know what you will get.

i suggest you learn as much as you can from any source. you may get a really easy qr, but a difficult PAT or vice versa.

good luck!

Thanks for the reply,
I am taking the test tomorrow and I will keep you guys posted on how I do, and what things other people should focus their studies on. Thanks again for the reply😉

croco,

I'm sure you'll do well. The point of many review books is not only to review the information, but also to point out all the information that you don't know via their practice exams.

If you're doing well on those practice exams, then you're probably well-prepared for the actual DAT.

Barrons is quite alright compared to kaplan's quant section. However, I would use many different combinations of books to make sure you have a good base. Barrons is a great outline text.
